Regardless, I've always been for Harmonix opening up to as many different genres as possible, no matter how niche. I've bought so many songs that I'm not a fan (putting it lightly) of the genre or even the band, simply because they are fun.
Before the Green Day release, I can't think of the last time they had any current (<6 months old) music available as DLC, maybe Disturbed a year or so back? They need to continue to work with the record companies closer and have track packs available with the release of a new album. The synergy is obvious for both the record companies and the Harmonix, with increased sales for both. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I personally prefer older tracks, or at least tracks I'm more likely to be familiar with. I do like encountering and enjoying music new to me, but I'm more likely to buy songs I somewhat know. When I go to a concert, I'd like to hear mostly songs I already know, as well.

Did you get the REO + Styx song? Because I found that one unlistenable.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
East Jesus Nowhere is the first song I remember actually having "god damn" charted vocally. Had quite a chuckle when my 8 year-old sang that.

More soda talk:
Found the caps on both Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist at Meijer a few hours ago. $1.38 each though. No sale. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I wonder how long until someone gets 100% on East Jesus Nowhere on X Guitar. These three songs from Green Day makes me really want their stuff from Dookie now.

Ah, right.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
So where's the consistency? This ain't a scene, it's an arms race is so awkward to sing without the god damn in it. I don't listen to the radio, is that how the radio version goes?

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I think it's radio edit in the case of Fall Out Boy. Green Day only says it once.
Frequency *should* have no bearing. It *should* be about context. IMO, the context in both these examples are identical. El Scorcho has a different context.

I have a trashcan full of caps here that I'll sell to you for $0.40 a piece.
Are you sure you thought your bulletin board offering through all the way? We computer programmers can be sticklers for details. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
So... I'm just a dumb PS3 owner so I clearly can't handle retrieving a code online. The damn thing defaults to XBox and I just forgot to change it. (Dammit, kicked in the nuts again.)
If some wise and gracious 360 owner would like to swap me a cap code (or the PS3 version of the song when it releases on tomorrow) for Green Day's "East Jesus Nowhere" I would thereby deem you to be my favorite person for at least 15 seconds. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I would help you if I didn't already get that song yesterday.

Oh, also, because Mad Dawg's such a swell guy, someone else on the forum gets to benefit. If anybody wants that code for East Jesus Nowhere let me know. But to earn the code you'll also have to come up with three good reasons why you regret not buying Rock Band for PS3. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
 Eat it, pinata!
I hope that code's a winner, though. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
It's all good. jd's still my favorite PS3-gamer. Well, by default that is...
