Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Picked up 6 more at a Circle K. 2/$2.22. They actually had Diet with the cap this time, so  to that. I've actually given most of these to the guys at work. Too many calories.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Does this sound like basically the Lips Microphone but available on it's own or is this something better? http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/arch...ps7867453.aspx

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Just the Lips mic. I got 2 for a fifth of that price, with a free game last week. Nice try micro(phone)soft.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
So how does the redemption process work on the 360/PS3 side? Do they just email you a XBL/PSN code for the specific song you chose, whereas the Wii gets straight-up 200 Wii points?

I think for shits & grins, I'll try a Wii code to see if it can go into my DSi stockpile. I already own the only two DSi games worth playing, but it might be nice for some time in the future if it works. Besides, I'm running out of songs I want. Why did I buy so damn many No Doubt, Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam tracks individually when they came out? :( |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
No Doubt is a big chunk of my wishlist. But for this promotion it's low on the totem pole since their album of 14 songs for 1600 points works out to about 115 MS points each. That makes getting them for free through this a little hard to swallow.
Also, I keep hoping for a 25% off sale like they did with the Foo album a few months ago. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
If your family/friends supply you with some free caps, then you can probably get all you want by the end of the promotion (September something?).

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Yeah, I know, I'm not even counting that as part of the 14. I think "New" is a safe one to get from my list. As is Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker & Steve Miller's The Joker since the Classic Rock Track Pack doesn't include those.
I'm just having a hard time buying anything that might be on a future 90s, Alternative, and/or Punk Track Pack. Those are getting more enticing now that they're throwing timed exclusive songs on there. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I was under the impression this was for a NEW Xbox mic, that would work with all those games mentioned. I was asking if because of a controller specifically created by Microsoft to work with all music games, if they would even bother releasing the patch for the Lips mic to work with Rock Band.

Notice every title it lists is already compatible with the existing Lips mics and notable titles (GH:WT) are missing that we already know won't be updated to support the Lips mics. |

Ah, yeah, there's no reason to think this isn't just the same microphone released with Lips last year. After all, they're both by Microsoft.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Also, why not just announce the "Lips" mics are now available separately and work with EVERYTHING? I think this is yet another mic they're trying to sell.

They've clearanced out the Lips bundles as best they can at this point. By the time these mics hit, I doubt you'll be able to find the 2-mic pack anywhere. I would guess Lips: N1H comes with one mic bundled and you can add a 2nd for $50. There's a reason they charge a licensing fee to incorporate their wireless tech into 3rd party controllers. So they can offer the wireless options exclusively. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
More proof:
The 2 "Lips" mics I have, say "XBOX 360" on them. Not "Lips". The manual that came with them says "XBOX 360 WIRELESS MICROPHONE". Not "Lips Microphone". This is the same thing, just released separately. This will help them cash in on the 3-part Beatles harmonies this Holiday. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I finally found some Pepsis with RB caps (only cherry flavored), but I had to go out of town to do it. I'm 1 of 1, though. :)

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
If anyone spots any 1L bottles w/ caps, let me know where. I'm going to see if they're worth more "Point(s)" as the website seems to indicate. I know they'll be cheaper than $3, so that may be a good way to maximize this deal.
