Way too much cRAP instead of RAP.

But just because it's called "DJ Hero" doesn't mean it has to be ALL rap. DJs mix a lot of different types of music.

Yeah, I'm not completely happy with the direction they are heading trying for increased sales, although I understand it.

I guess I'm not seeing the change in direction musically over first game. Do you mean the more house/techno stuff? Can you elaborate?

I love the direction... I guess I'm getting old, but it's cool hearing the older songs mixed with newer ones.

I meant cRAP as in they put in a lot of modern rap that I think is plain garbage.

Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches

Exactly. I mean the first one had some classic PE, Rakim, BDP - even Shook Ones Pt2. This go round there's Bambaataa and there's LL (yes! Rock the Bells!), everything else in terms of rap is more on the pop side - even from "harder" artists.

Ok gotcha. There is some older stuff in the game still, but yeah, for the most part they definitely are going a lot more current overall. I would also prefer the other, but I think for me once I'm playing the game I'll be into the mix regardless. I hate The Pussycat Dolls and not a Gaga fan at all, but I think I've played those tracks on the demo like 20 times each at this point. They're still fun for me to play. :)

Anyone else have any problems with the turntable controller? While i was playing a set, the crossfader started moving by itself messing up my multiplier. It also started pausing the game automatically. I tried switching to fresh batteries but it keeps happening. Is this a sign my controller is dying?

I've gone through 3 controllers. The only problems I've had with them though is spinning the disc and it registering button presses. Those issues sound odd.

will the DJ Hero 2 turntable be any different than the original? Target is selling DJ Hero with Turntable for $29.99... but if the DJ Hero 2 controller will be significantly better, I might not get it. Any help?

As I'm aware, there is no difference in the controllers. The current prices for DJ Hero 1 is sick. I'm wondering how they're going to handle them all still around in a few weeks while trying to sell a new bundle at $100.

They can't get much cheaper than $29.99... can they??

Thanks for the info.

I wouldn't think so, but I also can't think it's going to help DJ Hero 2 bundles for $100 when there are DJ Hero 1 ones available for $30 or less. I'm wondering if there's going to be some strategy to pull them is what I'm saying.

I picked up the PS3 version for $20 three weeks ago at Toys R Us.

Same here, but for 360

You might want to check Best Buy as well. Awhile back, they had the bundle for $40 and you could get an extra turntable for free.

I remember seeing it for $40 there and I almost bit... don't remember it having an extra turntable bundled with it. Cause I definitely would have gotten it then.

I'm happy with $29.99 though. This is a pretty fun game.

Make sure you check out the demo for 2 if you haven't already. The freestyle changes make the game even more awesome.

Just received this from Amazon about my order.

"Hello, We’re writing to let you know that we are unable to send you the two exclusive MP3 songs that you qualified for with your recent purchase of DJ Hero 2. We’re very sorry about this. Please note that up until the day that DJ Hero ships to you, you may also cancel your order without your credit card or other payment method being charged. If you choose to continue with your purchase, to help make up for any disappointment, we will send you a $10 credit to apply to a future purchase on Amazon.com shortly after your product ships."
Meh, I'd rather have the $10 bucks off anyways.

This game is so fucking awesome. I can't even see ever going back to DJ Hero 1 after the freedom that 2 gives you.

So can you export the songs from DJ hero 1?

Fail. That's unforgiveable. For a game that struggled to sell it's first gen version why would they not throw us a bone? There are some damn good mixes on the first disc.... but I'm not going to swap back and forth.
