Fail. That's unforgiveable. For a game that struggled to sell it's first gen version why would they not throw us a bone? There are some damn good mixes on the first disc.... but I'm not going to swap back and forth.
I guess a full import at any given time isn't a complete impossibility, but they haven't said anything as of yet, and I wouldn't count on it if only because of the the updates they've made to the game with 2. (Although they will be putting out a free download in November that will allow old DLC to work in 2. So that should be interesting to see how it compares.) |
Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches
My point is that the game sold poorly and I suspect this one will as well -- despite the positive reviews. The hardware cost kills it and most people aren't smart enough to pick up DJ Hero1 at a rockbottom price and use that hardware for DJ2... therefore I suspect it won't sell well. Based on that, I'm going to wait for DJ2 to fall in price before I pick it up... and I love the genre. IMO all these music based games that re-up annually should allow for import of their old songs for a nominal fee.

I wonder if re-licensing would be an even bigger pain for this game then it would for the normal Guitar Hero/Rock Band releases? There could be an issue there. |
Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches
Probably. I just want my cake and to eat it too. In my perfect, lazy gaming world, I'd have a 6-disc changer that loaded the game I wanted based on mind control :)
I suspect DJ1 won't get ANY use after I get DJ2. Which is too bad. |

Superfro: I see your name on my screen when I'm playing. It's under the stars indicator. Do you know why? It's not explained in the manual. I thought it was like RB2 where it would show your score so that I can have a gauge at how well I am playing against you but it doesn't show your score. I sent you a challenge as well. :-) |

Actually, DJ Hero is the saving grace of the Hero brand. DJ Hero sold more copies in its first month than Van Halen, Warriors of Rock or Band Hero.

And I know a bunch of people that jumped on it at it's rock bottom prices over the last few months. Hopefully that bodes well for DJH2. It definitely deserves everybody playing it.

Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches
And there is literallly nothing different in the hardware between 1 and 2, correct? I might have to pick up a second turntable (version 1) just to play some DJ2 with my buddy.

To the best of my knowledge they are both functionally the same. I'd even wager that ones in DJ2 bundles are just repurposed DJ1 turntables.

Superfro: Have you beat any of he DJ battles yet? I am losing big time to DJ Qbert! LOL I'm home sick today so I'll play some more but he's tough! Maybe I need to up my difficulty from medium to get more practice!

Far as I can tell the name notification it gives you on the side is the leaderboard standing and is based on score even though it doesn't give you the score amount of the person on your friend's list. You kind of just have to judge by the line. |

I did the Rhianna one. Took me like 10 minutes to even figure out how to find them. (The only way I found was to go into the Hero Feed and find it on that list.) I did beat it and resent it back to you.

LOL! Cool! I'm talking about the battle at each club. Once you beat the Venue and advance, if you go back to the previous one, there's a DJ battle and a song challenge. You get to do the whole back and forth thing to see who can win the most sections of the song. It's fun but hella hard!
Yeah they are hard. Plus I'm playing on Hard. I had tied DJ Qbert so it didn't count. I did it a second time and beat him though. The one in London beat the shit out of me. |
Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches
lol I only got half of your challenge score! Time for more practice! lol At least I know one other person to challenge now lol

And I got the party pack so now I have two turntables and a microphone! Actually, since Activision sent me a controller with the last one, and I have at least two Rock Band mics, I have three turntables and three microphones! This may have been addressed somewhere else in the thread, but I'm not about to read through 10 pages. Is there a place to get these mixes for everyday listening? |

OK, the mix of "Superstition" vs. "War" is alone worth the price of admission. Amazing fun to play and to listen to.

Whoever made the decision to put megamixes in the game is my hero. They are insanely awesome. I hope we get more for DLC in the future.
