I would have agreed with this a couple weeks ago, but my new Jasper seems to have solved that, at least compared to my 80 GB (BC) PS3.

How would you compare PSN to Live? I have yet to play online on the PS3 (all my friends of 360s).

No comaprison at all, Live takes the cake. But with the PSN being completely free, it works for me perfect.

PSN free, it works for me, since i hate to pay for a service i don't use much (like not eating a lot at a prepaid buffet). I have no problems with SFIV on-line, R2, Warhawk and LBP. Well, except LBP, some times the lagging and loading is so bad that i just kill the session...

I can't speak for Live, since i'm a silver member, not gold. But what i can say is, silver sucks... can't even download demo right away, gold gets all the privileges (duh). Well, it's a bit anal to use those 48 hours cards just for demos, i just wait for week or so, but then i forget...

Yeah, I am comparing a 20GB Pro 360 to a 40GB PS3.

As for Live, of course it's better in terms of friends and things like that, but then again, as others have said, it's $50 a year and PSN is free, so we tend to give PSN a break in that regard.

So it's like getting a free game every year...or two depending on which price point you normally buy your games. I'm a $20-30 guy with rare exceptions.

And while PSN is not douchenozzle-free, the douchenozzle-ratio seems to be much lower. to that!

True. I've never heard them referred to as that, but true.

Well...I have a near lifetime supply of Live thanks to local Blockbusters allowing me to pilfer all of their GTA IV rental copies of 1 month live codes Is the douchenozzle-ratio lower because of fewer users with headsets? The "party" chat mode has all but eliminated that for me (although a couple friends fall into that category)

It looks that way. I'm betting one puzzle for finding the girl and one puzzle from Stapler a week. Not the greatest thing ever, but if they can keep it from having errors I will log on once a week to play a free adventure game.

I call fewer users with headsets A FEATURE.

I might feel differently if I had a regular group I played with. Our Warhawk Saturdays have actually been pretty fun.

Ah, i forgot about the Warhawk session...

i don't really like to chat while gaming. In LBP, the sackboy/sackgirl facial and hand/arm expressions are good enough. You can nod your head for yes, shake your head for no, sad, happy, angry and scared. Oh, dancing too (the disco )
If the player is too slow, drag him/her. Getting annoying? Slap!

same here, but recently, too many "rare exceptions"

All new (i buy used too when there are deals, but tend to stick to new)
SFIV CE $80
RE5 CE $80
KZ2 at $45
Valkyria Chronicle $40

That's it, i need to cool it...

It depends on the game and moreso who you're playing with.

I find LBP lacking in that regard. It's the sole reason I bought a USB keyboard for my PS3.

Lately I paid:

$50 for RB2, but it was using birthday giftcard
$40 for LBP, but it was a Xmas gift for my son (allegedly).
$25 for GTA IV
$10 for Burnout Paradise
$10 for Assasin's Creed
$10 for Flower
$10 for Quest for Booty

Speaking of old school games, here's one for the PSN:

Spelunker HD

Honestly, i have no idea what that game is until i read it from WiKi.

A mining game? I don't know what to say...

Subtlety is dead.

See my post title and what I quoted. I was mocking the earlier math.
