Keep an eye on it. It's been bouncing up and down for months (like a lot of items at Amazon). It was back up to $74.99 just 2 or 3 weeks ago, then it gradually decreased again.
Having said that, $59.99 is the cheapest I've ever seen it, and it usually stays in the $65-70 range.

Did any of you tried the Fat Princess Beta?
The game is okay, but since i couldn't play on-line, so getting whipped by the AI is not so fun.

Or I think there's a way to search for games your friends are playing and can jump in that way. At least with this map, it's much more enjoyable online and with less than 32 people. And I did finally play a number of rounds of DM yesterday in an 8 person online game and had a lot of fun doing so.
I posted my review or impressions in the PSN thread and since then the game has continued to improve for me.

All 5 of those are pretty good. I voted for the Plasma sprinkler though. Seems like it would deal the most damage. The mini Quark gun is pretty funny.

OK. I used precision screwdrivers. I tried to be as careful as possible, but these screws are impossible to remove on the PS3 HDD. I already stripped the first one with the slightest bit of pressure. Do I have any options left? Is there some way to cut these off without damaging the housing or should I just say to hell with it and order another HDD housing from Sony?
Edit. Nevermind. Other 3 came out with no issue and a pair of needle nose pliers was enough to remove the stripped one. Thankfully I have a few of the right size screws to replace these awful things.
The nightmare's continue. When I powered it up it was like the first time I turned on the system. The restore refuses to work and now when I swapped back in the old HDD it says all my old accounts on the system are unregistered. What a complete freaking disaster this has turned into.

I was able to get my accounts fixed and everything seemed good. I tried to restore and it said no restore data found. I figured maybe something got screwed up so I spent another hour doing a fresh back up. I tried again to do the restore and I get the same error. No restore data found even though it detects the HDD and finds the backup data file.
This is a complete clusterf**k. My choice is to keep the new HDD and redownload everything from PSN which will take days as slow as it is and to lose my few saves that are locked like Rock Band 2 or just give up and go back to the 60GB. I'm done with the whole thing for now, but yeah this doesn't always go smoothly.
Edit. I finally found a thread on Playstation forums with this issue. The PS3 doesn't always unmount the drive properly when rebooting for the restore. When it reboots you just have to manually turn off the external drive and turn it back on. Easy when you know the secret.
It will take an hour to finish and I won't be shocked if my whole console just explodes upon completion.
Ok it restored and is back up and now when I move around on the Media Bar it freezes every so often for 2-3 seconds. No idea if the hard drive is too slow or what. Anyone have that happen?

i'm seriously thinking about upgrading to 500gb. My 320gb is running low, 50% is used. With game sharing, i virtually have all of the PSN games

Once I got the screws off (which wasn't too hard), it's as simple as sliding the old hard drive out and popping the new hard drive in. Mine booted up like normal and I've enjoyed the extra media space ever since. Actually, I may have commented about it earlier in this thread.
One thing to note is that I didn't have any game saves, but my profile transferred right over.

Other than dealing with the screws that were apparently welded in by Superman, I didn't have any problems upgrading from the 60GB drive to the 320GB drive. I had to resort to using pliers as well. By the time I finally got them off, the housing case and the screws themselves looked like they had been chewed up and spit out by Godzilla.
I worked at least 1-2 hours on just that part.

And zero issues with my PS3. I don't remember the model of the hard drive I used, but it was a portable external hard drive, in a case, of course.

yo, when comes to idiotic mistakes, i think i'm the king. I have the tendency mess things up all the times. For example, i didn't know that the optical connector on the Xbox 360 was on the cable, wasted me a day trying to look for a hole that's not on the machine
Another one? I applied the screen protector on my DS the wrong side ($4 mistake).
Anyhow, i was able to upgrade the PS3 hdd w/o any problems... I think the horror stories have to do with backups and restores. Aside from protected game saves, everything else should be 1-2-3 using backup and restore.
P.S. I don't remember any screws...

The crazy thing is I have built a PC from parts, I modded 4 different Xbox consoles to XBMC including adding new harddrives and I soldered in my own mod chips on my Dreamcast and Playstation one. Almost zero issues on those jobs. What kicks my ass? Putting in a stupid HDD that the PS3 is designed to allow upgrades for.
I still have a slight pause here and there on the XMB and that is a concern right now. However, as long as I don't have issues playing games I guess I can live with it. Other than that everything is cool. Having all this space is great. I had no idea I could dump straight VOBs on the HDD and they would work. At least now I can play games that require 4GB installs without worry.

^ that's the idea
install, store and be happy. I hate to delete stuff, i can part with old game/movie trailers or demos to which i have the actual games. However, deleting a purchased content? No way... Free themes? No way... Game installs? Never!
The only things i delete now a day are media files i transferred from external hdds. I like my PS3 as a media machine for now (the blue tooth controller is awesome).
However, i'm thinking about getting a hdd media player. They are slim and slick now. I can use a computer, but it's not instantaneous...

I upgraded the drive over the weekend. No problems.
The hardest part was trying to find the perfect size screwdriver. I had to borrow that from my dad, all of mine were too big.

What is game sharing?

Each PSN game/download can be downloaded on up to 5, or maybe 6, I forget, unique console IDs. So, you get a group of 3 or 4 people together and take turns buying DLC or PSN games, etc, or, you pair w/ people on the internet you don't know, I guess. I game share with my younger brother and his friend.
