Shit, I just started Bioshock last night. And you guys think YOU'RE behind? I'm still meaning to pick up Rock Band 2 and export my RB1 disk. And now that some Wolfmother has been announced, the better half has expressed some interest in learning how to play.

Meh. KZ2 was definitely slick, but it took itself far too seriously in my opinion. It was like everything in the game was on steroids. I grew bored with it rather quickly.

I'd be more likely to pick up Resistance 2 than Killzone 2.

I love the PR guy. He was one of my favorite actors on the short lived "Sons & Daughters".

that's why I got it, but then when I found out I couldn't play with a friend, it has just sat around. Resistance 2 is so much fun as co-op and competitive. I wonder when the next one will come out.......

I guess Insomnia just did the new Ratchet & Clank game so maybe they'll be back to Resistance again.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

KZ2 was fine. Different to play from the other FPSs, and I've played most of them, at least the most popular: Halo, Gears, COD, etc.

I didn't like the dialogues, and the acting in general, but the story was OK for a FPS and was a really good ride.

I have only tried the Resistance 1 demo and I didn't like it. I haven't played neither Resistance 1 or Resistance 2, the full games.

the single player campaign for R2 isn't anything special.....although I didn't get very far in it.

the multi-player modes are where it's at.

I see. I really didn't care about KZ2 MP, I played a little bit and it just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not a COD MP either, I'm more of the Halo/Gears group.

CODMW2 will be my first COD MP. I played WoW on PC single player and enjoyed it a lot.

KZ2 MP looked promising as I liked all the different types of characters you can unlock (medic, soldier, special ops....etc). I only played an hour or so, though.

Do you have Uncharted 2? If so, have you tried any of the mp? Those are pretty fun and similar to R2's multiplayer.....although the co-op isn't as good.

Yeah, I have Uncharted 2, but I haven't started playing it since I'm finishing the first one, second time, to get all the money/gold (?). But I have played MP, I played in the beta back in May or June and then a few weeks ago before the game was released and yeah, it was a lot of fun.

Playing Arkham Assylum and Uncharted 2 back-to-back has me positively giddy, since I think both will end up on my top-10 of all time list, and I'll have InFamous, Fallout 3 GOTY, God of War Collection and a new Ratchet and Clank to play over the holidays.

Not with my first-generation 60GB still hosed. I can play DVDs, but games and Blu-ray freeze after 10-15 minutes. Not sure whether to bite the bullet on the $150 repair or hope for a fix. I know, I'm a fool to hope....

Try to find out if you have any local third party repairs shops in your area. We have a couple around here (found one actually on craigslist) that fix consoles for around $60 and don't charge you to just inspect it. Might be worth the chance.

I think it is Sony telling you to go ahead and buy a slim. What's another 150 bucks, cheapskate!

I told a friend the other day -- in the last 2-3 months, my PS3 has become a game machine that plays HD movies; it was other way around for the first 2 years that i owned it.

They're telling me that because I had the faith to buy their first-generation machine, they can screw me over and not care

Same for me, but it only took 2 months from when I purchased it in 2007 for that to occur.

Thanks to all the deals, I now OWN about 120 PS3 games ... and only about 100 Blu-rays.

Well after all of the Killzone 2 talk, I decided to finally pop it in this morning. Now only if I didn't have to wait for all of the updates...

Netflix integration confirmed:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/...playstation-3/

Attention, PlayStation 3 owners: want to watch a movie streamed instantly from Netflix via your PS3? I’ve got terrific news for you; very soon you’ll be able to do just that.

We’re excited to announce today that Netflix and Sony have partnered to bring you thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed instantly from Netflix to your TV via your PS3 system at no extra charge. When the application launches next month, you’ll be able to access and watch thousands of Netflix choices directly through the XMB. We think that the nearly nine million PS3 enthusiasts and 11.1 million Netflix members in the U.S. will make quite a match.

If you want to get a head start on your PS3 Netflix experience, you can sign up today at http://www.netflix.com/ps3.

For more information, check out the press release below (or click here), and stay tuned to the PlayStation.Blog for further updates on the rollout.

Trust me, if it isn't a red ring you would be paying MS probably close to the same, and trust me, all the systems have many other errors than the red ring, just that red ring is more prevalent. Even the wii would be charging I think 120 dollars if it breaks, that's almost the price of a new system.
