Oh, so clever.
Not only can I read English just fine, I know how to write what I mean.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
What bit-count subjectivity? 8-bit games are still cool, nothing wrong with 8-bit games. As a matter of fact, if Endless Ocean is done in 8-bits, it's probably superior than the Endless Ocean that's on the shelves right now. As you can see, graphic is not everything, it's all about how the game is presented. Wii's Endless Ocean tried too hard to look "real" or "next gen graphic-ish" which is a drawback...

I would recommend not interjecting non-sequiturs in the future that just cause confusion and can be taken "out of context" or "negatively". The post was fine but for that totally random 8-bit comment.
That sort of thing adds an air of condescension to your post and causes people to react negatively.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
If the action of the 5 years old is "better" than the adult in question, then yeah, the reaction will be the other way.
In this case the 5 years old's action is an 8 bit game. If the adult's action or Endless Ocean is better than the 5 years old's action or the 8 bit game, then it's understandable, but it's not...

The point here is, you guys automatically take my post as saying something like:
Endless Ocean is like a 8-bit game, it sucks.
I didn't say that!

It wasn't a yes/no question.
The problem is, you say things without fully realizing what they mean, or the implications of the vagueness of what you're saying. And when people try to point out to you how something is being taken and help you (something you requested in previous instances) - you don't bother to understand it and just say "what I said was right".
regarding the post above this one - if you read what I said I explained how what you said can be taken and why it was taken in the way it was.

I'll try to steer this back OT: Anyone use Pandora on the PS3? Lately I've noticed it will play a few songs then just hang while it is loading the next one. My wireless signal is fine to the PS3 so I wonder why it is happening?

I don't remember the exact problem but it didn't last long for me either.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Imagine it this way - if you said something and I replied "That would be acceptable if he was 5 years old...but he's not." how would that be taken?
YES - the man would be offended if he's compared to a 5 years old
No - the man would not be offended if he's compared to a 5 years old
Not a yes/no question doesn't yield no yes/no answers...
True, i said i want to learn, but i've learned nothing here... So, you, the mighty one, always say things fully realizing what they mean? Or you just want to say what you want to say w/o understanding what you read?
Okay, i understand your context of the 5 years old to adult analogy. And yes, by just reading that, people can take things the wrong way. However, if you put the bold part into consideration, you probably don't end up in the wrong way in the first place.
YES - the man would be offended if he's compared to a 5 years old
No - the man would not be offended if he's compared to a 5 years old

No clue what you're saying.
Yes, I always try to think about things I say before I say them, to make my intent clear.
So to say it in your speak - I say what i want to say when i say it, even when i want it to say what it is i want to say, with understanding always leading to what i really meant to say. In summary, yes/no leads to yes/no.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
For what it's worth I took
" I never liked Wii's Endless Ocean (if it's a 8 bit game, it's understandable, but it's not...)"
as a backhanded slap on the Wii's graphics capability...and I didn't like the game either.
....
PS3 (related)
Twice now, my PS3 has lost it's handshaking with my HDMI switchbox. The first time, a simple reboot fixed it, but this last time I had to shut it off for a good 20 minutes or so. I don't know if is the switchbox (never have a problem with the 360 or Dish DVR) or if it's a sign of "trouble" ahead for my PS3. It switches to 480p mode, I then have to plug in the composite cables to get a signal on my TV. The PS3 then flashes text on the screen saying an HDMI connection has been detected and asks if I want to use. I say yes, it reboots back to 480p.
(actually, I held down the on button to "reset" it, and that is when it went to 480p, before the TV showed a 1080i signal connected, but there was no display -- I know there are known issues with older 1080i TVs, but this one is 720p compatible)
I think it may be an issue with the switchbox not being fully compatible with the PS3. The 360, for instance, won't turn on fully until I select the corresponding input on the switchbox, whereas the PS3 boots up regardless of which input is selected.
Did I make any sense? (---this is the yes/no question part---)

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
So i had the worst experience today with my PS3. First off i've had the PS3 for a month now. I play mostly GTA4 on it and a few others and CD-R music. Have never had a problem until today. I've been playing GTA4 alot this week but of course when i'm done i take the disc out and put it back into its case. So when i finished playing the game today after about an hour or so i eject the disc and it's totally scuffed up as if someone used a key and started scratching it around, Marks all over the game. LUCKILY i was able to return the game to the store today for an exchange and just told them that it was that way when i bought it. So i try another game afterwards (don't ask me why) and i notice another little mark. So then i'm really pissed off and can't believe this was happening, I called Sony explained the problem and he told me to send them the console to check up on it. I decided instead to return the system back to the store (Target) and ask them for an exchange. So i did that and i now have my new PS3. Does anyone know what could've caused this to start happening? Why on earth all of a sudden did it start to scuff up my PS3 games? I've treated the PS3 like a winning lottery ticket for a month now and i get this trouble. Well hopefully everything will be ok and it could've just been a bad console. I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks.
Thanks.

So... uh...
inFamous comes out soon. I'm excited.
I got to download me some Franz Ferdinand for Rock Band today. Yay for Thursdays! Thursdays are way more awesome than Tuesdays.
