Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Was there any truth to the rumor of them purging old/unused gamertags with this update?
I'd like to drop the 360 off my tag if I can. |

According to this site, PixyJunket is available. It also does not show up on Xbox live when you search for it.

According to my billing history I should hit 7 years on November 17. When exactly did Live go Live?

The very first gamertag, e, was created on 8/13/2002. e, as he is known both online and in real life, will turn 7 on 8/13/2009. |

I'm actually 95% sure I was the original MARTIN, but since the tag doesn't reference my actual name, but the location where I lived at the time (multiple roommates using the same tag) the "5" represented the apartment number in the Martin House apartments. If I can I'll pay the money to drop the 5 since whoever Martin was never got a 360, and everyone knows me as Martin so a drastic name change doesn't make sense.
Edit - Can someone please check the availability for me? The tag availability sites are of course blocked for me. |

Same basic in game achievements the Wii version had. Some of those goals are pretty tough to get. Can't wait to get these tables in HD.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
i get kinda weirded out when I'm playing some people online and they're gamertag has their birthday (like 1189)...or it's in the 90's. Makes me keep quiet knowing that I'm twice their age.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
So Martin, why is your gamertag and wii code so large and colorful in your sig yet the PSN tag is a standard size font and black?
Are you just as biased as L&O? |

Are you just as biased as L&O? no actually it's only like that because some asshole was like "I don't believe you have a PS3 because it's not in your sig" when I was criticizing the console. So it was a quick fix, he never added me though :( I thought we could get a game of.........um........yeah |

You REALLY don't want a common gamertag like Martin. Even with a rarer name like Trevor, and the fact that I go months without logging in, I get several friend requests per week from 12 year olds thinking that I'm their friend named Trevor.

Lost Planet 2 Co-Op Demo Coming August 19th
' Capcom today announced that their co-op demo that has featured at trade shows like E3, Comic-Con and soon to be GamesCom next week, will see the light of day for Gold Members on Xbox Live on August 19th, just as GamesCom opens its doors. Silver members can download the demo on August 26th. What can we expect? Capcom tell us this ... "Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers around the world will be able to experience the desperate battle against the enormous G-Type Salamander Akrid boss in online, co-operative shoot outs. Utilizing a host of weapons scattered through out the arena, squads of up to four players will face off against the huge monster in an attempt to bring it down. Players can assault the Salamander in a number of ways, from shearing off its legs to actually being swallowed and fighting their way out from the inside! Superior firepower comes in many flavours, including numerous beam and projectile weapons and several Vital Suit robotic combat units that up to three players can ride at once. There are new support weapons which allow teammates to boost attack and defense abilities, while players can share life-giving thermal energy amongst injured members of their squad. Additionally, the new Dash feature allows players to sprint for short distances, bringing greater speed to combat." 4 player Lost Planet 2 co-op demo on Xbox Live? Sounds like fun.' |

I know there is a Halo thread but...
From Kotaku: We've noticed. Many of you are sick to death of Halo. To a certain extent that's understandable, but then, sometimes you have to applaud the efforts of a game that, two years on from release, is still so damn popular. How popular? According to Bungie, on average, every single day, there are over 1,000,000 unique Halo 3 users. Over one million. Every. Day. Nutso. Halo 3 Still Popular [IGN] |

It'll be 1,000,001 tonight (and likely tomorrow) if my poker buddies tonight have any say about it and I get knocked out early.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I'm a little more than half way through the game and like it for what it is: a good console RTS game
You don't get the true Halo feel from the other games, but it is fun to command the vehicles and characters from the previous games Worst case scenario is you resell the game after you beat it and keep the map packs, because I don't see myself playing through the game for a second time. But I haven't tried multiplayer yet. So if that's solid, I might keep the game for that |
