If you have live account and are into online gaming definitely pick it up. If you don't have either of these wait for another price drop. It's still a fine game on it's own, but it's rather short (can be finished completely in about 2-3 hours if you know what you are doing).

I do agree that it isn't worth crap as a single-player game, but in MP it really rocks. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
That's funny, since my 360 hates me and killed my F.E.A.R. save I decided to run through some demos I hadn't played yet. L4D was one of them. It reminded me a bit of Serious Sam in the way they just throw as many enemies at you as they can. Pretty fun.
I also gave the Kingdom for Keflings a run. Pretty cool, but the demo was too short for me to accurately decide on a purchase or not. Congrats you built a three room house! Now fork over 800 points. I booted up the Maw, but it took too long to get to the action. Save the cut scenes for the full game people, or let me skip 'em. Delete. I still need to get to that Halo Wars demo too. |

if there's no micromanagement in halo wars, I want out :( I played the tutorial and one level of the demo, and it felt sad to me.

They have gamer pics to download of Best Picture nominees. I downloaded the Benjamin Button hoping for Cate Blanchett but no such luck. It's just Brad.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Got an arcade system for $150.84 at Circuit City after tax :D Didn't really want it for the XBOX part, but for the PlayOn and other streaming programs part. A Netflix Roku box is $120... $30 more for this was more than worth it.
So, any good sites/programs other than Orb and PlayOn to share media? I really want to be able to play Divx on it but haven't been able to so far. I have a Media Center edition PC and haven't been able to get it to work with my other XBOX and haven't been able to get Media Player sharing to work. But I haven't given up hope yet :) |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Im using tversity (free) with no issues, and everything i play is divx
http://tversity.com/ was using it through shared media on media player (not media center).. but it started acting weird with permissions and refresh.. so I said screw it and moved on.. tversity is easy to setup and works great. just be sure to adjust the library fresh option.. default is 24 hours.. i set mine down to 1 hour.. and i do a quick manual refresh if I want to watch something more recent than that. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
No six packs, you liar.
But I couldn't pass up the 5 gallon pail of mayonnaise like dressing. I don't even like the shit, but it was a hell of a deal! And 2% cash back! |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Well this time got Orb to work. I didn't like TVersity because I found it to be a memory hog.
Any idea how to get .srt/subtitles to work? I press the Subtitle option on the 360 menu and it says the action is not available there. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
What is Orb?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I'm in the process of moving VHS tapes to the PC and the divx format is widely supported. I'm adding subtitles so that we know what the different events were. I've found subtitle files the best thing to do in this case because they're easily changeable (i.e. mispelings, etc.). Before I was adding subtitles through video editing programs and that was a pain. But if I don't get on this quickly the tapes will disintegrate by the time I get to it (one of them is of my newborn niece and she'll be 15 on April Fool's Day :p).
It'll be great once I have the XBOX in the living room because I don't have to put them on DVD anymore. Put them all in an external hard drive and we're good to go. Next project: Pictures (have over 10,000 of those). |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Now someone tell my what Orb is and why it might be more useful than TVersity or PlayOn.
I assume it is a media streaming thing. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Could you also google why i might be interested in that program rather than PlayOn or TVersity?
And then just to top things off, maybe google how i can add moderators to my ignore list? :P |
