Recently, I haven't been able to play without the Charge & Play, even if I leave it charging for an hour. This happen to anybody else?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
i have a newer battery that lasts a LOT longer than the older one. play and charge just keeps me rotating.
BTW I had a madcats battery that caused all sorts of connection problems when I put it in the MS made controller. No idea why. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Alright, that's pretty damn sexy blown up. However, using the the FPS freak extender would nullify the cool red analog stick.

How old is your battery? They tend to die out eventually.
I bought the kit less than year ago. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
How often to you recharge it? Have you always let it completely discharge before you recharge it?
|

Not completely - I connected it as soon I noticed the light blinking or the first connect the controller command. How many hours/week do you play? Sounds like the battery life is short. My first play/charge lasted a couple years actually. |

~15hours/week. Seems like I'm the only one with this problem. Weird... |

Yeah, jokes aside, my batteries lasted a couple years. I sold them off last year though when I picked up the red and black controllers. Actually sitting between those two that new controller would look like they procreated.

I guess they are never going to release a controller with an improved D-pad, huh? |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Isn't the d-pad only critical in fighting games? I don't seem to use it much in other games. At least not to where I notice a problem with it.

I thought the red controllers had the updated d-pad.

Wow, that controller is even more hideous looking.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Don’t use unauthorized Xbox 360 Storage Devices
When Preview Program members start receiving the Xbox 360 system update next week, one of the changes is that unauthorized Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360. If you’ve moved your profile or saved games onto one to “back it up,” you’d better move it back onto an authorized Xbox 360 storage device prior to taking the update. If you continue to use an unauthorized Memory Unit after the update, you will not be able to access your stored profile or saved games. Major Nelson's Blog |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
So is that just for preview people or is that going to be standard now? I can't imagine they would cock block all the third party MUs out there.
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I think there doing it to prevent modders, so it looks like it is going to be a standard.

I think they're mainly trying to block out those new 2GB+ cards that are actually just a MicroSD card that can easily be swapped out. That's making the system a little more open than they would like.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Does this also include using flash drives to run video content?
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
No, it is only for the memory cards, not anything via the from panel usb.
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Damn. I bought a used HDD to save some money and it ended up being a modded drive. Looks completely legit, but I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work with Xbox1 games. Did some research and discovered my drive was a bootleg 120GB. Works perfectly fine except for that, but with this update it looks like that was $60 down the drain. Oh well, time to move everything back to the 20GB. At least this gives me incentive to not buy any more content on XBL since my 20GB was full. I refuse to drop $130 for an official one.

Um, I might be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure you CAN'T move info from a 120 to a 60 or 20 -- only to a larger or identical drive. You might be stuck having to buy an official 120 GB one, or else back up your game saves and XBL profile to an official memory unit and re-download everything else.
All you need is a transfer cable. And then download the hd kits off the internet and format the drive. It took me about an hour in total to do it (made a few mistakes first few tries) and had to do it with my WinXP computer. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Why does it change the Win XP to ShittyP?
Also, you should be able to back everything up to your computer before you format and then copy it back onto the drive once you're done. But basically what happened was that when they made your fake drive they forgot to put the Xbox original root file on there, that's why you can't play Xbox games (I found this all out when I tried to play Fable 1). |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Hmm, I got my drive off eBay, guess I need to see if Xbox games work on it.
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I really want to upgrade my 20 GB to a 120, but I refuse to pay $135+ on principle.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Hmm, tried Halo and Halo 2 last night and they both work fine. Does that mean I'm in the clear? I guess I should back up whatever saves I can just in case. sigh... fucking modders.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I don't think that they're going to be banning HDDs. MajorNelson specifically says that
unauthorized Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360 http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg Those of you who bought the cheap 120GB drives off of eBay are probably in the clear and are just spreading FUD. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Maybe, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
