So you usually get a small handful of games, 95% of which suck. Granted, the Natal has applications outside gaming, but I really don't see it being a success.
Even "early in the day" additions don't see a lot of success. Playstation Eye was released, what, a couple of years ago now, and goes virtually unused, even by 1st party titles.

Wii Fit and Wii motion+ might end up breaking this peripheral trend, though.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I'd have to say that Nintendo's presentation did nothing more than affirm my decision to sell my Nintendo Wii/paperweight. I'd love to play SMG2 since the first one was easily one of the best games I've played in recent years, but I'm not going to hold onto the system for just one game (there's a couple others that look interesting, but they're games I'd definitely wait for reviews on). I had fun with the Wii for a while, but it's become clear over the last year that Nintendo isn't really interested in my gaming dollars.

Sony did pretty good (really looking forward to Uncharted 2 and GOW3) and Microsoft did well enough (I'm sort of ambivalent about them since I don't own a 360). I think the Natal and Vibrator peripherals look pretty interesting, but not sure how much I'm actually looking forward to them (Natal definitely looks overly ambitious at this point).

Re: E3 Expo 2009 : June 2-4 - news, info, coverage, etc.

Just got out of 2K Games. Bioshock 2 is looking good. I watched one encounter with a "Big Sister". They are much more mobile than the Big Daddy and the suit is built to look like a female. The multiplayer was pretty smooth as well. At some point, one player can become a Big Daddy during the multiplayer match. They obviously removed the hacking mini-game for multiplayer so you can hack turrets quicker.

Mafia II was very atmospheric, similar to the first. The game is set between 1945 and 1955. Similar to the last, you play over an entire decade. Kind of bummed that they removed the speed limit restrictions though.

Going back in 20 minutes to see a demo of Borderlands. And I'll be playing Beatles Rock Band in about an hour after that. LEGO Rock Band is a riot, btw.

Getting some great shots. I'm hoping to upload everything later today.

I've only heard a couple. One was a Jackson 5 song, "I Want You Back" perhaps.

This is how I felt. Natal was pretty cool but I'll have to see more of it and what they plan on doing with it. Also cost will be an issue. Halo Reach and the Metal Gear announcement were big....but aside from that I wasn't too impressed with it.

Sony's motion control device looks really cool and the games they showed were amazing...Uncharted 2, God of War 3, GTA 5 and The Last Guardian. I also can't wait for the new Final Fantasy online game. I thought overall Sony's conference was better.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was about the only thing that interested me for Nintendo.

See the way I feel is that they should just be reiterating the same thing over and over again. We know that Uncharted 2, God of War 3 and GTA 5 were coming out.

I would have like to have seen some more world premieres at all the conferences.

The problem is that keeping things under wraps in this day and age is nearly impossible. Even rumors getting out (e.g. MS/Sony working on motion controls) can put a dent on the impact of a world premiere.

I've been watching coverage on G4 for the past couple of hours, and they are balls deep in Microsoft. I haven't seen coverage of a single Wii or PS3 game.

I've never watched the channel. Are they affiliated with MS or something???

It seems like it, they even insulted Jack Tretton by promoting the MS coverage right in front of him.

They even joked about the PSP Go leak during the Sony talk.

Oh yea I totally understand that. I just wish they didn't rehash the same things that they did the previous year.

The release of Final Fantasy VII on PSN pretty much guarantees that it wont get a remake. There's no way Square would put it up for $10-15 if they have a $60 remake in the works.

As for the reason they aren't making one, my guess is that they don't have nearly enough development resources at this point, I'm sure Final Fantasy XIII, XIII Versus and IV all have huge teams and they just don't have any other teams to work on another game of that size.

Watched both conferences and thought Nintendo did a really good job and showed many real games. Sony did pretty poorly and made Microsoft's camera control look genius by comparison. The PSP D'oh is a joke. When they announced the price I nearly died laughing. Unfortunately the new PSP and light up dildo is what most will remember and not Last Guardian. BTW, God of War 3 was not impressive at all. Yeah, the exact same game I already played twice.

I'm not really sold on the pre-Natal hype so far.

I find it hard to believe it could ever be precise enough to be truly fun.
I think games would either be way to easy or annoyingly hard.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong...

I'm not sold on either camera controller. Sad that both companies are going after this with so much effort. Maybe it will work out, but I'm highly doubtful of either of those working well in a real living room.

Glitchy as hell is what's running through my mind. I can see clipping being a huge problem.

I didn't even see what Sony showed yet.

I guess S&M are both still chasing the Wii's tail.

Came home and watched some G4 coverage, I mean 360 circle jerk. Didn't see a damn thing from Sony replayed.
