Wow, Sony ended strongly. MS had the better conference, but Sony didn't disappoint (except for the lack of a price reduction).

Did they say the Uncharted2 MP demo is out tonight on PSN? If so... AWESOME.

Even though I care more about Nintendo's core franchises (SMG2! ) I think Sony had a better conference. Although, isn't the purple dildo an admission of defeat in regards to sixaxis? Just like Natal though, the audience for it will be small which leads me to question who is going to develop for it? Lair, anyone? It looks like it's a long way off as well.

I think MS still had the stronger conference than both. So I'd rank them exactly as last year. MS, Sony, Nintendo.

If Sony had announced a price drop they would have won for me. I rank Microsoft first, Sony Second, and Nintendo third.

Yeah, Microsoft was better. But we all know who will sell more consoles and games this year.
Did anyone else notice that EA has sold more than 600K copies of EA Sports Active? And the game was released in May 19!

I believe the demo/beta was previously announced for tomorrow, 6/3.

Ah geez. That probably means it will become another annual franchise for EA.

I think Sony was much stronger than Microsoft. I mean God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 are just amazing looking games. I rank them Sony, Microsoft, then Nintendo. I'm sure the price drop and redesign of the PS3 will come for the holiday season.

So they're releasing FFV11 on psn, but not a remake? That would've been awesome if they had announced the remake instead. I have a feeling they're secretly working on the FFV11 remake but it wont come out till at least 2010 or 2011. Sony would've owned e3 this year with that announcement.

If I can play the original on my PSP (without moding it) for $10, I can wait for a remake.

As stated above for the most part, MS, Sony and Nintendo in that order for my favorite press conferences. I am not a MS fan at all, but they sure know how to cater to the gamers.

What was up with the big three having their own version of some new peripheral? At least Nintendo's was further out than the others (and probably won't make it to market... hopefully). I mean, if they're all trying to capture the market the Wii has, it seems ridiculous. Cater to your core audience.

What? WiiMotion+ or the Sensor thing? WiiMotion+ is due out this month.

Re: E3 Expo 2009 : June 2-4 - news, info, coverage, etc.

Judging just by content, I will buy the most from Nintendo. Off the cuff, I will own (either for myself or my son):

SMG2
Mario Multiplayer
Metroid
Zelda DS
Mario and Luigi
Wiimotion Plus (with Tiger Woods?)
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Kingdom Hearts

From Sony's conferenence, I'll likely own:

Uncharted 2
God of War 3
Trico

From Microsoft, when I eventually get a 360, L4D2 will hopefully still have people to play with. I'll also play Mass Effect and 2. Otherwise...shrug.

I'm absolutely "wait and see" on both motion controllers.

So I guess Nintendo wins for me (again, just based on content) followed by Sony and Microsoft...but nobody ran away with the show.

Wow, really surprised by Sony. I didn't expect much from them, but they definitely delivered.

The MC looks pretty insane. Looks like we'll have motion controls + incredible graphics. I'm not surprised about them not announcing the slim or a price cut. They'll probably do that closer to the holidays so they move out the inventory they do have.

When they said that Square had another game I was so hoping for FF7 Remake. It was a bit of let down for me.

Overall, I think they did pretty damn good. I was also hoping they'd announce Netflix, but that didn't happen either.

My rank now: Sony and Microsoft a tie and Nintendo.

I'd rank them as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. The only new interesting things were Mod Racers, Natal, and Sony's glowing dildo.

Microsoft - Sony - Nintendo

But I think all 3 had really strong titles that they either mentioned or showcased. Busy 12 months ahead of us that's for sure.

So if Natal does indeed turn out to be a $200 peripheral, does that dampen people's excitement? I can't imagine what kind of support they'd get for such a high priced peripheral...

If that's true, they might as well stop right now. That's way too high, but this is MS the people who can sell you a hard drive for double the price you could get it anywhere else.

I don't think it will cost $200, I mean you could a 360 arcade for that price.

The Crackdown 2 announcement overshadows everything else to me, this is the best possible news I could have asked for.

I'm a tad disappointed in the art direction of Crackdown 2. I really dug the cel shaded cartoony look. There's enough gritty GTA clones out there.

I'm just saying that's all they have, the same damn games over & over. It was bad enough having the same game released repeatedly for every system they make, and for the VC, but now we have to have two versions of the same shit within one consoles lifetime. [sarcasm]I'm sure the changes & additional features for the new Mario games will be groundbreaking!!![/sarcasm] My money says you won't be able to tell the difference between Wii1, Wii2, DS, DSi, GC, GB, GBA, VC, or even the SNes version of SMB.

Re: E3 Expo 2009 : June 2-4 - news, info, coverage, etc.

I'm wary of both of these peripherals. Traditionally, the problem with late in the day additions to console functionality, such as the Power Glove or Sega CD, is that developers have to design stuff specifically for the add-on, which developers are loathe to do because the install bases are usually a fraction of the total console sales. So you usually get a small handful of games, 95% of which suck. Granted, the Natal has applications outside gaming, but I really don't see it being a success.
