Agreed about Shag (anti GH fanboyism in the past notwithstanding). Can't say the same about Kij.

I just see it as wanting to keep all information relevant to a topic in one place.

I think he is hilarious too, not sure why everyone gets so up in arms over what he says. I think it is the jealousy over all the Gold Star vocals.

Other than Kijdhefgi, I don't think anyone got riled up about the topic, so I don't think there was any harm done.

To be fair, I don't think he got riled up either. Just take 99% of his posts (or go ahead and go for 100%) as a joke.

I hope they fix the leaderboard glitches and add a way to see the stars back in game soon, these things give more replay value. If there is no RB3 this year they really need to do a solid update to 'the platform'.

It'd be so nice to have stars as an additional sort category instead of trying to add it into the existing music-store-like (musicstore-like? music store-like?) GUI. You could play a setlist of songs you have 0 stars on! How about sorting by percent so you can see what you've hit on songs before? That might be a bit much. Sort by Times Played? Sort by Solos! Sort by Song Length! Sort by Release Date would be somewhat helpful. The problem with adding all of these is you'd now want to sort by method of sorting which is ridonkeydooculous.

Showing your score after a song, along with the leaderboard top score and your previous high score would be amazing, but that seems more like an XBLA type of thing to do.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I've said it before but with no RB3 in sight I too hope there is a serious title update. Stars are a no brainer, but I'd also like the ability to sort DLC by download date. Say I download 5 songs from 5 different bands, creating a playlist scrolling through a few hundred songs to find those 5 is a PITA. Or maybe not a total, 'sort by date' but maybe '20 most recent DLC purchases' type deal.

Agreed on both points. As more and more DLC is released, there is going to need to be even more sorting options to help people find the songs they want to play as quick as possible. It won't be unlikely to see over 1000 DLC songs released by the time RB3 comes out, and I can't imagine having to scroll through that to find a song I want to play.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I'd love to see stars integrated back in. Sort by download date would be a very welcome addition as well, although sort by release date might be more feasible.

Other things I'd like added/patched in would be:

- full Battle of the Bands history (not just the last 15-20 or so)
- Battle of the Bands leaderboards split up per configuration
- Solo leaderboard glitch fixed
- Drums patched so lefties can use cymbals
- Lips mics compatibility (I asked for this shitty game for XMas just for the mics. When is this coming?!)
- The high-score thing that Kij mentioned (a la Geo Wars 2) would be awesome as well. Maybe not for me, but for the people who play for score

I'm sure there's other things I'm missing, but those would all be a welcome addition and I think all of us would appreciate a hefty title update sometime this year, seeing as there's no RB3 coming until at least Fall '10 (I'm guessing).

To be fair, nearly ANY game that keeps a score/leaderboard could benefit from this.

That is one of the main things i would like to see. BotB is completely useless to me now and i completely stopped doing them. Most of the times i am playing solo vocals and there is no way i could post a competitive score. It is lame to have them sorted by setup.

This is one of the reasons that I don't do them anymore either. I don't consistently have a 4-piece expert band that I can have together every day for these things. Also, not having the full history is a bummer as well. I know that I/we played pretty high on a couple of the early ones, but now that information is lost since I "overwrote" it by continuing to play battles.

What about some sort of search using the XBox keypad thingie (unless it already does this and I'm just unaware of it).

I'd like the ability to save custom setlists.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

DLC download date probably wouldn't work because I don't think that information actually exists, and if it does there's no reason to think 3rd party software would have access to that sort of information (possibly privileged account info).

However Kij's idea of sorting by zero-score would accomplish essentially the same thing. At least the first time.

Maybe not download date, but they could easily have a DLC release date search. It wouldn't help people who go back and buy older DLC, but for people who buy a song or two each week, it could be pretty useful.

That is a really good idea. I can think of lots of good set list ideas that would be great to have handy whenever I wanted to play.

Wait, it doesn't keep your highscores... it keeps a "history"? WTF?
