Thanks for the heads up on the Gamestop sale prices!
Grabbed SFIV for PS3 and Madworld for Wii now that they are at my personal price point of $20....

I went into gamestop today and they said the price for silent hill and fear 2 was still the same. They said the price was $20 yesterday but today they had to change it back but it should be down to $20 tomorrow. This sounded like b.s. but now the site says it's $50. Anyone have the link to the deal decker posted? It's gone from Gamestops site???

Gamestop changes their sale prices on Friday, so the silent hill and fear discounts are most likely over. Sucks that they fed you some bullshit. You might try calling the manager and explaining the situation. I doubt they'd honor the price, but you never know.

Fuck Gamestop. The post says these deals are available until 8/2, but they are all back up in price now.

After my family went out to dinner today, we stopped by GameStop and found they had marked everything back up.

They said they did have some $20 games... but not the ones that were on sale previously.

He showed me a code on the sticker for Excitebots that read today's date as the date of the current price change/mark-up.

Oh well.

The only good thing that comes out of Gamestop is the Game Informer magazine.

From what I remember at CAG, Gamestop pulled the promotion on the 29th because they were selling too many of those titles at that price.

I don't know, it's been a very long time since I took an economics class at UCSB, but if I remember correctly, isn't that kind of the point of a sale?

If they were trying to clear the inventory maybe. Or if they were using it as a loss leader to get you in the door and hopefully buy a few other things.

Yeah, Amazon has some good trade in bonuses. My favorite was the 50% off any game or accessory (using it on Rock band made it quite valuable).

I just did a survey on changes to their edge program and it looks like Game Informer may be pulled as part of it. None of the new options included it.

That would suck. GI is the only reason I even have an Edge card.

Besides the 10% off used items and GameInformer, what the hell did the Edge card has that needs "changes"? I didn't know that the card had any more incentives than that. Gamestop is really pushing it if they are eliminating GameInformer subscription from the 2 benefits the discount card has.

I won't bother with an Edge Card if it doesn't include a subscription to GI. This would be a terrible idea. Who comes up with these stupid changes anyway?

You might be able to do the $2 Edge Card deal from CAG. No guarantees it will still work, but it doesn't hurt to try. It worked for me earlier this year.

The only reason I have the Edge card as well is for the Game Informer magazine as well.

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but I saw a commercial where Sports Illustrated is bundling Madden 10 (any console) with 28 issues of the magazine for $49, and you get some documentary about John Madden as well. They're touting it as a free game with the magazine, but of course I see it as a free magazine with the game. I don't think they'd deliver it as fast as Amazon, but it seems like a good deal if you can live with the possibility that the game will arrive a little later.
