Do you still get the free DLC with the new game purchase at the lower MSRP, or was that a "limited time" thing?

Considering how well it sold it tanked, I bet retailers are still riding on their first shipment.

I've not read anything that says it's limited-time. I think it's included with all new copies.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Some pretty good deals at Kmart next week. If you buy BF:BC 2, Alan Wake, or the new Splinter Cell ($39.99 each) you get a $20 gaming coupon. So I'm guessing you could stand there and get each one and use the $20 coupon as you go. If that's the case, I think I'm in for all three.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I made a last minute trip to Kmart for 3 $20 PSN cards for $40 (plus a $10 gc for future purchase). For those of you not on CAG and following these Kmart deals, they will be selling a Fallout: New Vegas collectible coaster set for $5 starting tomorrow. This also comes with a $15 gc good towards a future game purchase (can't be used until New Vegas is released).

Was this in today's ad? I can't find it anywhere.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Kmart for some reason does a bunch of video game deals and doesn't put them in their ad. This makes it extra difficult for the buyer since the clerks have zero idea what we're talking about when we go in there.

I picked up one preorder pack. It's like turning $5 now into $15 later. It's not even a real preorder -- you just get the coasters and the coupon. After I left I realized I could have picked up the other two for more profit, but after cleaning the Kmart out of PSN cards last week, I guess I owed them some good Karma anyway.

Also got Alan Wake for $40 with the $20 coupon for a $20 net cost. Very sweet deal and too hard for me to resist. Remember those gaming coupons do tend to expire quickly. The Alan Wake one expires 9/4; last week's Sony ones expire 8/28.

Kinda surprised this hasn't been posted yet (credit goes to CAG) but you can go to Best Buy and get DJ Hero for $40 and an extra turntable for free. It doesn't work online but I used online to check the store's stock. I bought mine today and it worked easy as pie.

They will ring them both up but once once the clerk hits total, it gives them the pop-up that the extra turntable is free. Always wanted to try this game but didn't really want to pay much for it. They must be trying to get rid of some stock.

I picked this up last week at Gamestop for the same price (new and sealed - what are the odds?) and it's well worth it.

Incredibly fun game so far.

Amazing that a game that started at $129.99, discounted to $39.99, now includes a bonus free turntable (originally $69.99), but yet is widely available at every Best Buy location in my area.

Thanks, actually grabbed it used for 16.99 from the warehouse. Only Batman AA is left on my must by list.

Obviously it didn't sell as well as they wanted at all [not sure if its the theme, the music, or yet another big plastic controller], but as far as I've heard, they're committed to a sequel - in addition to the retailer markdowns, I wouldnt be surprised if Activision is subsidizing these drops just to get the game [and the controller] out. Someone who has the controller might be more likely to buy the sequel, so they can get some more use out of it.
40 bucks for two controllers and the game is approaching my range of interest.

I'm tempted just because I'm a sucker for deals. But I'm trying to resist, as I'm sure this is the type of thing that I'll play one weekend, and then it will take up space for the rest of eternity.

Sort of meh. $60 for the game, making of DVD, and half a year of the magazine. I usually find the mag for $10 per year, so unless you really want that making of DVD, it's like getting the game for $55.

Last year it took like a month for the game to come as well when I did that SI offer.

Thanks for this. I picked up a copy for the Wii today. I was tempted to get it for the PS3, but since all my music games are Wii ones, I'll keep the trend going.

Now I'm waiting for someone to unload the Beatles drum set for cheap....

D.J. Hero 2 comes out October 19th, so it makes sense for retailers to start discounting DJ Hero now to make room. I remember Wal-mart doing that for the Guitar Hero and Rock Band merchandise last year to make room for Guitar Hero 5 and Rock Band Beatles.

Stopped by a different K mart today and found a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition. Used my $20 coupon and got another $20 coupon. If K mart keeps these deals up they will be my new favorite local store.

Slightly off topic, but anytime you buy something online and you get the bizrate survey's with $100 thank you gift (or whatever they call it), do the survey, you can get SI (and others) for $2 for a year. Just cancel before the year is up so you don't auto renew and you're golden.

From a preview I read at Gamestop, the controller is the same. It's being packaged as a 2 turntable, 1 mic and 1 game or 1 turntable and 1 game or just the game.
