It wasn't sarcasm at all. I thought Fallout was tedious, dull, depressing, visually unimpressive, and a massive letdown after Oblivion. Admittedly i prefer fantasy to sci-fi for RPG stuff but that preference couldn't even account for my level of disappointment in Fallout.

I can see someone not liking the style or tone of the game, but to call it terrible, and not worth even trying out?

Honestly i wouldn't recommend anyone not at least try something out - even Sneak King is worth at least trying out. I was using hyperbole in my earlier recommendation mostly because i can't fathom why the game gets the acclaim it did when I think it was a step backwards for Bethesda from Oblivion.

Do you mind if I ask how much of it you played Xmiyux?
I have to admit, I think that if they come out with an Oblivion game with the combat and skills system of Fallout, they'll have a ridiculous hit on their hands.

I believe i was one or two cities past finishing Megaton.
Spoiler:
Did you like the combat system of Fallout? I thought VATS was almost a band-aid for a somewhat broken system. It was super lame to have to carry around multiple copies of the same weapon because stuff would keep breaking.

Fallout > Oblivion for me too, both the game as a whole and the combat system.
I think the wasteland environment was more interesting/exciting for me than another medieval/fantasy one. I had issues with combat system in Oblivion, it seemed clunky to me, whereas VATS let me play it almost like a turnbased game, except with ranged weapons, which was unique. The world and inhabitants seemed so much more "alive" to me (post nuclear wasteland notwithstanding).
I don't see dull. I can see depressing to an extent, both in story and graphics. The world was very gray/brown, so I'll give that as a valid point. But to me, Oblivion was a letdown when I played it, Fallout was what I wanted Oblivion to feel like based on all the hype/reputation it had.
I will say if/when you play Fallout (it should be when, not if) you really have to give it at least an hour or two. I remember not really enjoying the first hour or two, and having second thoughts about buying it, but once I went outside, that all changed.
Um...looks like the Amazon MS Points deal is dead.

Ok, this is from CAG and can be a little complicated. You can get Dawn Of War 2, registered on Steam, for $5.87.
This is a British site. Go to This Site. They sell the game for 5 Pounds. Add it to your cart and then enter code MYTHQ-73853-WHPTB . That will take off Two Pounds. Pay for it with Paypal. You can use your credit card, but it's been difficult for some. They'll email you a CD Key instantly. You can then register that CD Key on Steam and start downloading the game off Steam. They also give you a code for bonus content that you can download once you install the game. I just did it (except the bonus content) and it went great.
edit: Looks like it might be dead now. People aren't getting it to go through even with Paypal anymore. Just a word of caution.

There is a price mistake going at TRU this week. The deal is to buy Battlefield Bad Company 2 and get Mass Effect 2, Army of Two, L4D2 or, Dante's Inferno for half price. However, there is an error and those second games are coming out for free. A few of us got in on this deal yesterday. Who knows how long it will take for them to correct this so get in now.

If only I had a TRU anywhere near me. Though next you'll tell me this doesn't work on the PS3 versions of BBC2 and Dante's Inferno.
