Also picked up Saints Row 2 for $4.99, the Downers Grove store had a ton of copies with a shelf price of $29.99, but it rang up correctly at $24.99. That plus Metroid Prime Trilogy for $20 and 2 seasons of Pushing Daisy for only $14.99 each, I did pretty good today with the sales.

Wow so I grabbed my coupon and headed to Best buy...called ahead and they said they had "plenty" of saints row 2's in..get there and none so I calmly went to the CS department, explained the situation etc and walked out paying .01 for saints row 2 on the 360. So even if it sucks, a penny aint bad

Really? Because the coupon specifically says that it's only for PS3.

yes, he was given the option of the 360 version (whcih was $5 cheaper to begin with) because their website lied to them and said they had enough of the PS3 versions in stock.

Ok, rereading the post, I see that now. It wasn't clear to me the first time. Must've skimmed right past "get there and none", my bad.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

yea, I just went out on a limb and asked if they would do it. She tried to contact her manager but they were so busy she just made the decision and did it herself. I was surprised and thought it was a cool move by her.

If you have any Blockbusters in town that are going out of business, it appears that they're funneling all the used games in the area to the clearance stores. That's what's going on here locally anyway. Used games are now 40% off. Hit two stores today and picked up the following 360 games:

Saints Row 2
Resident Evil 5
Civilization Revolution
Top Spin 3
Virtua Tennis 3
Star Wars Force Unleashed
Armored Core 4
Viking
Fracture
Soldier of Fortune Payback
Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard

For a total of about $60.

Is there a list somewhere online of Blockbusters going out of business?

Target will have Saint's Row 2 on sale starting tomorrow for $14.98. What do you think that the odds are of Best Buy matching this price and accepting the coupon? Maybe they will give a $5 credit.

The idiot cashier didn't let me price match saying that you needed to buy both Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing to get it for $19.99. I asked her where in the ad said that and she told me that she couldn't figure out what exactly was the "After Savings" clause. I'm going to try it again tonight.

My local Target Clearanced Saints Row 2 several weeks ago at that price, and they don't have any left.

Best Buy has the New Super Mario Bros. Wii for $39.99. Hopefully, Amazon will price match.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Short translation: $20 Trade in for the games on the list...not stackable with actual trade in value...you have to buy something...some older titles titles on the list.

I traded Oblivion GOTY and Boom Blox for a $40 gift card.

I price matched at Target, as my BB was sold out. My boy is playing it next to me in my office and we played for a bit earlier. Fun game.

I've heard of Gohastings.com, but I've never ordered from them until today. They have a "Buy 2 Used, Get 3rd for $1", which isn't the greatest deal ever, but their prices are fairly decent on non-current used games.

I found 6 titles I wanted (including Bioshock, Force Unleashed, Red Faction). Shipping hurt at $7.99, but I got a $5 order discount for some reason.

One of the other titles was Watchmen: End is Nigh PS3 edition for $10, which includes a Blu-Ray of the movie. (I know the game sucks )
http://www.gohastings.com/product/GA.../279299260.uts

Grand total for my 6 games was just over $60.

There is an overlapping promotion for $5 off any order over $25. This runs until 1/9 (which I think may also be the end date for the Buy2Get1for$1). You could of actually made 2 separate orders and saved another $5 (or $4 after shipping differences) if each order was over $25.

Dell has the 360 Arcade up for $175 + free shipping. Think there'll be any better deals than this anytime soon?

Dell charges sales tax in almost every state. That makes it not much cheaper than full price at Amazon in most states. Currently, it might be the best deal you find (with my state's sales tax, it would save you like $10), but if you can wait, you're bound to either find a better discount from Dell (I got my Arcade for like $150 + tax) or some sort of a bundle with free game or free controller from Amazon or a big retailer that would end up being a better deal than this.

It's $174 at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Arcade/dp/B0029MAXS6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1262815704&sr=8-1
