Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Shame there is not a PS4 Assassins Creed Bundle. I'd be all over that so I could give the PS4 to my daughter and her family and keep the AC games. Other than that not much for me except the Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Anyone that is thinking of a PS4 does have a slew of good deals to get started though. For $80.00 you can get Knack, Infamous, Killzone and Lego Marvel Movie games. All of these at that price is worth it.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
How do you know what games are eligible for 10$ preorder bonus at Best Buy? Is it all preorders, or does the item need to say? Is it instore only, or online as well?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Looks like it shouldn't be too difficult to get either Shadow of Mordor or The Evil Within for $25 over Black Friday.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
These are great deals too: Alien Isolation ($30), Diablo 3 ($30), Tomb Raider ($20), Wolfenstein ($25) and can't beat an extra controller for $39 especially on the PS4 with thumbgrip and trigger issues. And from last gen, Dishonored GOTY at $8 is a must have.
Is the PS4 camera worth it at $39? I will try to pick up: PS4 controller, Alien, Knack, Watchdogs |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
An extra XBox controller for me probably. Shadow of Mordor is tempting, but I have too much to play already with Destiny, CoD, Halo, and Sunset Overdrive already on hand.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
damn, i guess i should've waited on Disney Infinity 2.0. Way cheaper than I paid on launch. Oh well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Hopefully Amazon will match BB, I'm not dumb enough to go to their BF again.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
You can shop for most everything online. That's what I did last year. Bought games, the PSN Plus 1 year deal, movies, and an external HDD. Didn't step foot in the store.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Doesn't Best Buy do an early BF for Elite members? If so, that washer and dryer I bought earlier this year might pay off :)

What a mess this has become. When my extension didn't show, I made a post on the best buy forums. A best buy employer said he tried to fix it but couldn't. So he said he escalated it to another team. I looked today just to see. Now it shows 2 years fewer. Before it listed feb 2017. Now it lists nov 2015. :( now they owe my account 4 years. Hope they figure it out soon.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Took advantage of the Target deal here in Canada. Bought physical copies of Halo Master Chief Collection, Assassins Creed: Unity, and Alien Isolation. I feel dirty.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
If you regularly purchase video games, I would take advantage of the Target B2G1 sale this week. The credit will be there at gamestop next week and going forward. Target sale will not.
For this week you can't get the preorder bonus for Master Chief or Lego Batman so I would get those at Target. If you don't want to buy three games to keep, just pick a third game and return it later for $40. You will end up paying $40 each for Master Chief and Lego Batman. I am in a similar situation with a bunch of Best Buy credit. I got Master Chief, Lego Batman, COD and Bayonetta 2 at Target this morning with a couple games I will return. Save my Best Buy credit for LBP3 and GTA5 next week (both of which I have preordered and will get $10 certificate) and spend the rest of it on BF.

Maybe you guys can help me figure something out.
I want to get Assassin's Creed: Unity, The Halo MC collection, and Lego Batman 3 this week. I want to get Far Cry 4, GTA V, and Dragon Age Inquisition next week. Here's my dilemma: I currently have $250 credit at Gamestop. I pre-ordered Dragon Age (have $20 down), Lego Batman ($5 down), and Assassin's Creed ($10) down. I have $20 in Best Buy reward certs, plus $55 in credit, and GCU. Plus they give $10 in reward certs per pre-order. I have $20 in Target credit, and they have the Buy 2 get 1 deal this week. What's the best route? Gamestop would allow me to get Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, and Lego Batman pre-order bonuses and I'd still have enough to pre-order Far Cry 4 and fully pay it off. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $120 (after credit) Best Buy I could pre-order all the games for $48 each, plus $10 in reward certs. The $75 in certs and credit I already have would pay for one game. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $150 (after credit and future certs issued) Target I could get three games this week for $110, but the rest I'd have to get next week unless I bought three place holders and tried to exchange them. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $305 (after the deal this week, but it could be $240 if I did two transactions). It seems Gamestop is the clear winner here, but I just wanted opinions. I know Target is giving away a free guide for Dragon Age (which would be helpful) and a $10 gift card for Far Cry 4, but Target seems to be the most expensive option anyway. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Actually Wal Mart might be the best place to pick up an XB1 on BF:
Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection Bundle + $30 Gift Card - $329 That't the bundle MS should have released in the first place |

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Another benefit (to me at least) with the Wal Mart bundle is that it looks like you get a physical copy of the game. But yeah, a white bundle with that collection would have been a no brainer. And if they sold out of that SO bundle that fast, think about how many units they could have pushed out bringing that bundle to the states. I don't understand MS at times.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
It makes sense to me.
Halo will sell and move consoles whether bundled or not. SO needed a little push and looks to be the better game. Halos are classics to be sure, but old games look (and play) old. Shooters have come a long way since generation 6, and sometimes it's better to just leave nostalgia alone. I like the packaging choices and finally pricing it were it should be relative to the other two consoles. I wouldn't be at all surprised if MS won the NPDs for November, and it would be well deserved. |

GOG.com huge fall sale is live. Two daily bundles, flash sales every 40 minutes, free Mount & Blade today, free Witcher 2 and a movie if you visit 7 times spread over the week of sales.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Picked up two rounds of games at Target this week - 3DS/WiiU games for the kids, One/PS4 games for me:
Round #1 Super Smash Brothers 3DS Fantasy Life 3DS Shadow of Mordor PS4 Round #2 Halo: MCC One Sunset Overdrive One Mario Kart 8 WiiU After picking up Advanced Warfare last week on it's own, I'm set for the whole season now. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I'd hang onto that receipt for Shadow of Mordor if I were you. You'll be able to get it anywhere for $25 ($20 with GCU) on Black Friday and you paid over $40 for it (but thanks to the Target policy on these B1G1 bundle) can still return it for what it cost you as part of the total purchase.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I bought 6 games at Target and it looks like 4 (maybe even 5) are going back because of cheaper BF sale prices . So far it looks like Forza Horizon 2 is safe
