Yikes, $49.99, even more than I thought it was going to be.

Well.. today I got an email thanking me for renewing my membership. But the website still doesn't show the additional years.. Maybe it will update soon? I feel a little better today about it since I did get the email.

All three of my recent renewals resulted in a Welcome email at 9:05 the next day (and reflected immediately on the website)

Was the 50% trade-in bonus just for last week?

Decker 11-09-14 01:47 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yes, but they decreased all the trade-in values to make the total the same as it was before. I assume the values went back up.

Checking a few games, it looks like they've come up some but not back to where they were two weeks ago.

Yep there was a bunch of newer games trading in for $40 and as soon as the promotion started they dropped to $26.

Picked up Alien, Diablo, and Forza Horizon 2 from the B2G1 from Target today. Both stores I went to looked like they were hit hard early because they were out of a a bunch of stuff.

I'm ignorant to this Best Buy deal you folks are endorsing. Somebody please let me in on the cliff notes version. Are we to buy games at Best Buy exclusively from here to eternity? Thanks in advance!

Will have to watch either online and/or for the east coast folks who go out first to see if there are any great deals to be had since there will be more titles at these various price points. I'm especially wondering for example what might be at the $35 price point. We already know for sure though that COD and Halo Collection will not be for sale but just offer a gift card with purchase.

Sorry, my eyes aren't good enough to read that spine. I just took the word of the folks at CAG who I assumed could make it out with younger eyes.

If you look at the ad on target.com, you can click on each spine to see what the game is.

I'm not sure what BrandsMart is, but it's on Best Buy's approved price matching list. I think the rule is you have to have one near by, but we don't, and that didn't stop them from price matching COD Advance Warfare for $29.88 today.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Maybe you guys can help me figure something out.

I want to get Assassin's Creed: Unity, The Halo MC collection, and Lego Batman 3 this week. I want to get Far Cry 4, GTA V, and Dragon Age Inquisition next week.

Here's my dilemma:

I currently have $250 credit at Gamestop. I pre-ordered Dragon Age (have $20 down), Lego Batman ($5 down), and Assassin's Creed ($10) down.
I have $20 in Best Buy reward certs, plus $55 in credit, and GCU. Plus they give $10 in reward certs per pre-order.
I have $20 in Target credit, and they have the Buy 2 get 1 deal this week.

What's the best route?

Gamestop would allow me to get Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, and Lego Batman pre-order bonuses and I'd still have enough to pre-order Far Cry 4 and fully pay it off. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $120 (after credit)

Best Buy I could pre-order all the games for $48 each, plus $10 in reward certs. The $75 in certs and credit I already have would pay for one game. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $150 (after credit and future certs issued)

Target I could get three games this week for $110, but the rest I'd have to get next week unless I bought three place holders and tried to exchange them. Out of pocket expense for the 6 games: $305 (after the deal this week, but it could be $240 if I did two transactions).

It seems Gamestop is the clear winner here, but I just wanted opinions. I know Target is giving away a free guide for Dragon Age (which would be helpful) and a $10 gift card for Far Cry 4, but Target seems to be the most expensive option anyway.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Lego Batman has no $10 pre-order bonus from Best Buy and comes with a free exclusive Lego Bat Wing at Target, (besides you're too late for RZ preorder credit on the 11/11 games anyway) so you should probably get Lego Batman, Assassin's Creed and Halo from Target tomorrow with B2G1, then go to BB and preorder FC3, GTA4 and DA Inquisition ($5 down for each) for pick up next week at Best Buy with $10 RZ certificates each. Save your Game Stop credit for possibly a Black Friday deal or wait and use it on a New 3DS or something later you won't find cheaper at Best Buy with GCU.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Best Buy has their BF ad listed now on their site, some pretty decent prices to be had on a lot of next gen games for sure. Personally thinking of the following games so far for the Xbox One. (price before GC discount) Hopefully between WalMart, Gamestop or Microsoft store some of these and others will be cheaper.

Fantasia $29.99
Dead Rising: Apocalypse Edition $24.99
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor $24.99
Zoo Tycoon $19.99
