Return and re buy it. That's what I had to do as well when it wasn't showing up on my account, but it worked like a charm the second time. Got the e mail and the extension is showing up under my account.

The big problem here for me is that the purchase was part of a 150 or more purchase for the 6 months no interest and it barely pushed me over the minimum. I don't want to have to deal with buying and returning to get something I should have gotten in the first place while chancing the promotion being turned into an instant charge and debt due on my Best Buy card. They just need to get their shit together and fix it like I have asked them to as they can clearly see that I met every requirement.

Is it showing up on the receipt? It should show the GCU on there and something like "You saved $99.99" at the bottom of the receipt.

My GCU unlocked is on there as I bought a couple of games on the receipt with the discount. I really don't know what the problem is nor why they just haven't adjusted my account manually yet. They can clearly see that I am a current GCU member and that I bought one of the listed items.

On Black Friday, Sams Club will have 360 Trap Team Starter and Infinity 2.0 / 2.1 for $37.88. They don't show any other versions in the ad.

Did they scan a GCU purchase card with your purchase? If they did, it would show up on your receipt as a free item. If they didn't, that's why it hasn't shown up in your account. You don't automatically get the GCU membership just for making a cell purchase. They have to can a GCU card with it.

They can either scan your card, if you have one, or look up your account via telephone number. The latter is what they have always done for me and what they did this time. However, everything is there and nothing has been done yet.

No... you had to have a new GCU membership purchase card for them to scan with your purchase in addition to your current GCU membership card.

What GCU card are you guys even talking about? I've never once been given a card. It has always been tied to my RZ account, which is what I always give them when using my GCU account to buy games or Skylanders. Why should I have to go through extra hoops to get the additional years on my account when I met their purchase requirement? Isn't this essentially their fault for not knowing what they need to do or how to apply the purchase to my account?

I believe it is. The fact that I had to argue with the customer service rep about the purchase requirement while she checked the ad herself and put herself in her place should say enough about that.

I have had Unlocked since it started and have never had any membership card specifically for it.

As I've said before, most Best Buy employees have no idea what Gamers Club unlocked is. You need to bring the card that looks like the one Music posted to the register, then ring it up after you've given your phone number. If you cannot find one, they "should" have the bar code at the register to ring it up as well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

They really should have done it with the phone, especially if you mentioned the deal.

I have never seen these GCU cards at my store but I'm not saying they don't exist. However, I have been to both of my local stores many times and usually visit each one at least once a week and have never seen them. I do, however, feel that the csr should have taken care of this at the register in the customer service area as I specifically told him why I was buying the phone in the first place. Besides, it really should not be this difficult for the powers at be at Best Buy to fix this just because a silly little card was not scanned.

That is why I am frustrated. I have even called the Elite phone number on two different occasions and spoke with them about getting this resolved as well as sending messages to a couple of their online specialists to no avail so far. I was told by one of the reps that it would take 7-10 days to get resolved and was told by one of the specialists that he would look into it despite already having seen my receipt. Imagine if I told one of my students that it would take 7-10 days to change one of their grades that was put it erroneously.

The SKU for GCU is 3081375

If You're super-cheap, this Sim card is only $6.99 and works for the deal.

I wish we could purchase this and the GCU online and have it added that way. I would go ahead and just do that and forget about all of this nonsense.

you are talking advantage of a flaw in the promotion
when you were telling the clerk about why you were buying the phone did you let them know you were bypassing the intended activation of said phone stated as a requirement in the ad?

I overpaid for my sim card based on what the hang tab pricing said and what it actually rang up at and didn't fight to have the clerk remove an extra item I added to get me over a min I though I need to use a cert .... if I wasn't trying to take advantage of a situation that wasn't intended I surely would have fought to get it resolved

My Best Buy has a Xeroxed copy of the card they've been using.

Since the deal went front page over at Slickdeals, I picked up another one on the way home from work. Already shows on the website, now I'm good through 2020.

Well, since the ad says no activitation required and GO phones are also included then I am not taking advantage of a flaw.
