Yeah, I'm gonna have to get in on the Best Buy deal. LBP3, Lego Batman 3, and something else. Man, I really don't want to buy that disaster called WWE 2K15. Maybe Shadows Of Mordor since I missed out on BF. We shall see.

Shoot, is WWE 2K15 on next gen crappy too? That was one of the ones I was considering too.

For a free game it's fine.

It's not as bad as everyone says. But it is considerably slower than previous iterations, has a smaller roster and modes.

Considering how blah I am towards the current product, I guess it's a wait until next year for me then. I wish I had that kind of stance with Madden.

I realized I don't need anymore games when I can't make that Best Buy deal work without #DRIVECLUB or The Crew...

Does BB work the same as TRU and Target for these B2G1F deals? Where each game appears as $39.99 on the receipt and that is the amount you will get credited back if you return a game? So, if you can't find a 3rd game, you can buy a place holder, return it, and still get the lower price on the other two?

YMMV but without manager override if you returned one you'd get no money back.

So another weird thing about this, I got an e mail this morning with my code. Plugged it in and worked fine. But I also have a tracking number that says it's supposed to arrive tomorrow. So I'm not sure what the heck this guy was doing, unless he was using fake tracking numbers to show eBay he was shipping something out. But it all worked out in the end, so I guess that's what matters.

Same. Today I got a USPS envelope containing only a note saying that he had emailed me the code

I want GTA V but I'm not sure what other games I would want to work out the B2G1.

Yeah, got my package today. It's a mailed envelope with a sticker printed inside telling you to check your email inbox and let them know if you didn't get a code -- and Do Not open an ebay case.

I got my code by mail, but unfortunately I can't redeem it yet because my Live subscription runs until early 2017 already and they won't allow me to add onto it past 36 months. So I've got to sit on my code for a few months

Be careful with that. I just went through a nightmare scenario with Best Buy over a $25 Xbox live code that they didn't activate before they mailed it to me. The catch was it was one digit off, so they were trying to tell me I had the wrong code. I finally spoke to a manager to get everything straightened out.

I have every WWE game for the PS3. 2008-2K14. Legends Of WrestleMania, All Stars. Hell, I bought a second copy of WWE 13 just to get the online trophy that THQ's awful servers screwed me out of 2 years ago.

It took a lot for me pass on 2K15. But there is literally nothing in that game that has me the least bit interested in putting up with the same tired engine they've used since the PS2 days, gutting the creation suite and match modes and cutting the roster by 30%.

The last straw was when they decided to offer a DLC season pass, but not include all the DLC. No way in hell I'd spend over $40 for all the DLC, when at this point I'd get the game for $32. You don't gut the main game, and then double the price of DLC at the same time.

Does it say anything regarding Wii games?

Nothing for Nintendo.

PS3, PS4, 360, XBOne and PC only. Vita games don't even seem to be included.

I'm thinking of getting three more Xbox One games to build my pre-console purchase collection to 8 games. Forza Horizon 2 Day One, Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse, and <s>Titanfall</s> Lego Movie for $64. None of those should be super cheap or free anytime soon, right?

Deftones 12-07-14 10:49 AM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

titanfall was $25 on BF. i doubt it will get to that point again here before christmas.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Titanfall was $12.50 on the Xbox One's store for BF, including the season pass. It may not get that cheap again, but I wouldn't buy it new right now. I'm sure there are hundreds of gently used copies on eBay.

i thought that was only the PC version. my bad.

Thanks guys. I actually decided I don't really multiplayer enough to justify Titanfall, so maybe the Lego Movie game. My daughter should like it at least. Or maybe Tomb Raider, but wasn't that $20 once already?

Tomb Raider is on sale All. The. Time.

I'm trying to decide on my third game now. Far cry and dragon age, for sure. But do I want:
Call of duty (already had it, sold it, but kindofsortof want it again)
Forza (I need an Xbox one game. I don't usually like driving games, but for free I'm willing to give it a shot)
Alien isolation (I've seen it on Steam for a pretty hefty discount already, and would probably like to play it on PC with better graphics)

Always seem to run into this during these B2G1.

Decker 12-07-14 11:31 AM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Do you have Forza Horizon 2? Because it's a hell of a better game that Forza 5.

lopper 12-07-14 12:17 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The last Forza I tried to play was the first Horizon a couple years ago. I just couldn't get into it, but I think that's primarily because the only time I could play it was when I was pulling the night shift with our newborn. Not an optimal time to focus on playing a new game, for sure.

I might just get it because the XOne sits nearly unused in the family room while my PS4 gets much love in my office. It'd be something I could play while my kids mess around in the backyard or in the play room.
