I think it's more to the point that these stores don't expect to have much of anything next gen in stock for BF. That's why they're doing the next gen deals on release week.

Though you have to wonder if Target will run the Buy 2 get 1 next week for XBONE as well. Has that ad come out yet?

well target isn't having one for sure. i haven't see TRU or BB ads though, so there's still hope.

Target could be getting some Xbone games in stock before the week is over though. I mean the system does come out next week.

I saw Targets BF ad. They have a great deal on a new 16gb wifi iPad Air. $479 plus a $100 gift card. I'll be getting in on that for sure.

I happened to note that this year, Target put the right Xbox card on sale for $10 (the 3 month Live Card).

I don't think it's Target doing something special for the PS4, it's just that they do this sale every year around this time. My guess is that they felt this would be the week with more business being done, with the PS4 pre-sales being higher, so that won out.

Beyond that, it would have been a real clusterfuck if they had chosen next week with all the people buying PS4 games this week and wanting price matches or free games. Or even the possibility of people holding off on their purchases to wait for Sunday.

Even though it sucks for the XBONErs, I can understand why Target picked this week instead of next. I guess they could have done it last week and equally tick off all the next gen gamers...
