Isn't that the membership that's over $100?

The only membership I have is the Reward Zone, and the one that comes with the video game magazine that cost me either $15 or $20 for the year.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

It is the one that was $15 a year that came with the magazine, they changed it to be more expensive, no magazine, but 20% off new games.

It's the same thing, they just completely changed the terms. The magazine is no more, and they extended all existing members into February. Also, you should have gotten an email as an existing member offering you to extend it for an additional 2 years for $30

Ah. I did not realize that. Thanks for the info.

I'm gonna have to look for that email.

I think it helps she played Super Mario Galaxy earlier in the day and remembered that video games have some sort of redeeming value to them.

Still. Man, what a deal.
Look at it this way, the deals will be even better next year.

Exactly. Maybe even with the bonus of a decent-sized memory card, too!

I missed out on the Last of Us Lightning Deal. Is the $35 I've seen at a couple places as good as it's going to get?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Wally at Irvine had the PS Vita for $99. I have no intent on buying this, but the price was too tempting. I thought I saw it yesterday for $149. So bought it, and now doing my research if I should keep it, and if I do, what games I should get, etc...

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Ummm, $99? Was it labeled on sale at that price? How did you know to check it if it wasn't? I'd buy one in a second at that price.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

They had a big bunch of PS Vita's just in front of their cel phone/computer stand, and it was very prominently on sale. Most likely they expected to sell more of these, w/c is reason it has been marked down. Same as their HDTVs. They still have a bunch all over the store, and I noticed that they've marked the prices down compared to yesterday's prices.. So as all things Walmart, this likely may be YMMV.

Now I need tips on game prices for Vita. Never looked at these before so don't even know if current prices at Amazon are good prices or just regular prices now.

Okay here's your tip :

1: Buy a big memory card. They're expensive, but worth it.
2: join PS Plus and grab the free games.

That'll do you fine.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I hadn't noticed this before - on Wed I bought Sonic All Stars Racing as an Amazon LD for 9.99.
It's back on LD now for 11.99. Anyone notice this? Does this kind of thing happen often?

Deal hunting drives me crazy - on the one hand, it's great to get a good price - on the other hand, there will almost always be a better price sometime, or one that's at least as good without time pressure, etc. I have to learn to educate myself before buying, then make the purchase and just be happy with it. (I bought something on Woot last week that was part of the T-Day Woot off for ten bucks less, for example.)

A Vita for 99 bucks is a steal. I would likely grab a second one at that price.

I think it's just Sonic Racing. Pricing for that has been all over the map since this summer. Up and down, up and down. Helluva game though. Blows Mario Kart away.

Tell me about it. I ordered my wife a dress online earlier. Started out at $60 and I got it down to $15 after BF discounts and googling a coupon code. It was a steal. A few hours later I get the shipped email and decided to open the product page again and the site had chopped another $4 off. Dammit. Not gonna cry over $4, but it's definitely annoying. Had I waited 3 hours, it would have been around $10.

I'm very tempted, but I was also tempted by the Legendary Edition that I declined yesterday for 19.99. Realistically it'd be a long time (if ever) before I got through the main content so I probably don't need the big version.

Where was this voice of reason for my head yesterday?

I never even finished Skyrim, and Oblivion was one of my favorite games of that gaming generation.

16GB Vita cards for $19.99 at Amazon right now. Probably won't last long.

Edit: A bunch of Vita games are also $9.99, including LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, etc.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Double posting awesome deal :

Holy shit -- Amazing 3DS deal :
At TRU online, if you buy either Angry Birds Star Wars or TMNT for $29.99, you can get any of a HUGE number of 3DS games for free including the new Zelda and both new Pokemon games. It's nuts (those games cost $39.99 by themselves). Hurry!

Don't have a Vita (not yet, at least), but I grabbed a copy of Uncharted in case I do eventually get one. Thanks MoviePage.

You're better off getting PS Plus. Uncharted is one of the free Vita games all year long.
