Personally, I think this thread should be sufficient for that purpose. So many of the Amazon deals are so dynamic and limited that the more different threads we have, the more likely we are to miss a sudden bump in one of them for a hot deal.
Besides, if you really want the best overview of video game deals, you always have the CAG video game deals thread which is constantly being updated and probably better than anything we could try to duplicate here.

Walmart released their ad as well. They have so much stuff piled together it's really hard to tell what's what. Honorable mentions are Dishonored, X Com, Borderlands 2 and WWE 13 for $25 and Forza Horizon for $15. Here are the pics from their site.

$25

Hopefully Amazon will match that Forza Horizon price, otherwise in for sure on that one somewhere for that price. Was hoping for a good price on it, WAS not expecting it this cheap though.

Last year I waited for amazon to price match dance central 2 and kinect sports 2 for $15 but they never did. They ended up matching best buy's price of $25.

I am surprised by the lack of holiday bundles for the 3ds xl and 360. The sony bundle is great. Now I wish I traded in my ps3 when it was worth $190 at gamestop.

I'd grab Forza for $15, but no way I'm stepping foot in WM on BF.

You don't have to, they open at 8pm on Thanksgiving day

I might actually go up there that night to see if I can grab a couple of those and some of the cheap Blus they have.

On the walmart bf ad, what is the Wii game under Just Dance 4 and above super smash bro brawl in the $25 section? It's the only game I can't figure out in the ad.

I've gone to walmart the last two years on BF and it wasn't too bad. Get in, grab your crap and run to checkout. I need to make sure I don't need a cart though. Two years ago I bought a power wheel and it was a pain to navigate a shopping cart around the place.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'm curious what people were waiting on/expecting for BF deals for the 3DS XL... it's been basically on sale at many retailers the past month or so, with various stores giving either 20 bucks off or a 20 dollar gift card, which is a pretty good deal (barring a price drop).

NO BF price matches at Best Buy or Target, as I understand it.

Yeah, I don't know why they bundled it with the first game though. The clear green gill grunt does however look cool.

Amazon might match that price. They matched a lot of the $25 / $30 prices last year.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I did Walmart BF last year to get my sister's family an Xbox w/ Kinect for $100 off and my parents a cheap, but decent HDTV. There were cordoned-off lines for those and it wasn't bad at all. Just sat there with my DS and chatted up some other people waiting, occasionally watching insanity break-outs in other areas of the store.

Now the people waiting for cheap movies and games? That shit was ridiculous and a fight broke out over it. No lines, just mobs of people around each of the big displays that had some sort of coverings secured over them. At midnight, the workers came out and removed the coverings, resulting in hundreds of people trying to climb over each other to grab handfuls of stuff on sale. Somewhere around half a dozen guys got in a big pushing match and end up slugging it out for a minute or two until cops and security pulled them apart and escorted them away. Absolutely crazy and not even close to worth it, especially considering Amazon will end up matching a lot of those prices anyway.

Has that officially been said, I know I price matched the 3-month LIVE cards last year at my Target at midnight. THe one thing they will not pricematch are doorbuster deals for example.

For sure though Best Buy will not.

I really hope that Amazon or Best Buy somehow matches WWE '13 for $25 and Lego Batman 2 for $15. I really don't want to have to step into a Walmart on BF. That's like having a death wish, and my wife would probably get arrested to boot. (I know she really wants to get me WWE '13). Not a good situation.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

To this day I will never understand why WalMart does things the way they do. First they had the incident years ago where someone was trampled to death because all they would do is just open their doors at midnight and let the crowd rush in.

To negate this most if not all now allow people in beforehand but you cannot buy the stuiff until a specific time. That at least solved the "stampede" issue. Instead you get the issue you still have to this day of people cramming around their special "shippers" that they ncover pretty much all at once and let the masses have at it. Thankfully at least 2 years running now for me the Blu's are NO rush at all at the WalMart I go to but while not as sever as above they definitely have a madhouse the second the video game shippers are uncovered.

While it leads to annoying waits the store that gets it right it seems is Toy R Us, at least around me. They literally only allow about 10 or so customers in at a time and then only until they get checked out do they start allowing another batch in. I could not believe it when I saw that's what they do, but it gets rid of the chaos.

Why not hand out tickets for the items the day before?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Looking at those videos really is insane. Its funny though cause it brings me back to my 20's...
I had this roommate that was really into black Friday sales, but he cheated. He used things like DVDTalk & whatnot to find what was going to be on sale and he'd goto the stores a week early. But he wouldn't buy items, rather he hid them within the store. I remember one time specifically he hid a giant batch of games and DVDs into a storage compartment some random fridge. When we went there on Black Friday 2004 surely enough, they were still there. Ah, memories...

Then you'd have a mad rush the day before (if the store is even open).
