Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

This afternoon's deals' hints:

Deal 1 Hint: Get your game on, no matter where you go.
Deal 2 Hint: The checkered flag is just over the horizon, and a wheel can help get you there.
Deal 3 Hint: Embark on an epic fantasy adventure to write your own destiny (and also get all the DLC)!

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Reminder to those who bought AC3 from Best Buy this week : The game is $47.99 today at www.toysrus.com . Best Buy should have no problem refunding you $12 today with the receipt, regardless of your qualifying for the $20 RZ certificate preorder bonus. Makes the game a great deal.

Also today is the last day for the October @Gamer coupons.

Just got my November issue and the coupons suck. $15 off DOA 5 (that one could end up okay), $10 off NFS The Run, $10 off Naruto Shippuden : Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations (???), $15 off NBA Baller Beats, $20 off Cabela Dangerous Hunts 2013 Bundle, $10 off any Pre-owned game > $29.99, $20 off Astro Gaming A50 Wireless Headset, $5 off @Gamer CoD Special Magazine (which is free with refundable $5 CoD Black Ops 2 preorder anyway). Pretty crappy for a second straight month.
Also don't forget that the $15 off 12 Month Live card expires in one week. You may be able to combine with the upcoming Halo 4 deal, but I don't know for sure.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Toys R Us has a deal of sorts. Buy 1 game at regular price and get a $10 gift card. Buy 2 games and get a $40 gift card.

More details, please. If it's any video games, that could be a great deal, if it's any video game $59.99 or more, not so much.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I guess when I think about, it isn't that great. It's pretty much, buy 2 games for $119.98+ tax and get one for $19.99+ tax (with the $40 GC discount)

Actually that kind of sucks.

I'll wait until Black Friday to see if their are any deals for games.

Yeah, it would have been rude to tell you that outright, but since you mentioned it, the deal does suck.

For someone to pass up two consecutive weeks of Buy 2, Get 1 Free deals and then jump on this Buy 2, get a $40 gift card deal, they'd have to be pretty foolish.

Unless there was only 2 games they wanted.

This is a crazy good deal. If you preordered the game at bestbuy and got the $20 certificate, you can now pricematch to TRU for 47.99 as Decker said. The CSR on the phone couldn't figure out how to do the tax, so just refunded an even $15. In addition the preorder bonus steelbook case has some value on amazon. I sold mine for 27.99. After shipping and seller fees I made just over $24.

$65 for game (including tax) MINUS
$20 reward zone certificate MINUS
$15 pricematch to TRU MINUS
$24 for selling steelbook

Effective cost of $6 (including tax) for PS3 version of AC3. Absolutely nuts. And that is before any other pricematches in the next 5 weeks.

Which you could have gotten at Target, returning the third game for 1/3 of the total price...

I believe CAG said on the 9th/10th there will be a video game doorbuster at TRU. $60 games come with a $20 gc.

Oops. Thanks, you're right. I looked at the date on the response and not the original post. Damn. 12 plus tax back would have been nice.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

It was 11/2 & 11/3 only. But hang onto your receipt -- I don't think it will be the last time we'll see that game on sale somewhere.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Black Friday ads are starting to pop up. So far Old Navy will be giving away copies of NSMBU with any purchase of $40 or more. KMart will have Max Payne 3 and LA Noire for $8.99 each, Batman AC GOTY edition for $19.99, Borderlands 2 for $34.99, and MOH Warfighter, NFS Most Wanted, Forza Horizons, FIFA & Madden for $39.99 each. Can't wait to see what the other stores offer.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I've never done the Old Navy vg deals thing before (Lego Rock Band, Dance Central), but I've heard horror stories, since you're basically lining up with a bunch of people looking for clothes, and who don't care about the game but will certainly take it for free.

As for Kmart and the others... well, I just hope Amazon pricematches, since I try to avoid the madness of BF B&M in general.

This! I tried for Lego RB that year. Never again. Plus, they don't have many copies available anyway. I'm talking less than 10 (at least at my ON store).

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I skipped Old Navy last year and found out there was actually a short line at the one near me. Still glad I didn't go though. I would rather sleep than do the Black Friday thing anymore.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Some Best Buy notable Black Friday prices - NFS Most Wanted, Darksiders II, MOH Warfighter, Battlefield 3 Premium Edition - $29.99 each, Assassin's Creed 3 - $34.99

Is it worth starting a Black Friday thread for pricing and updates as stuff rolls in? I'm sure Amazon is going to match some of this as well. Thoughts?
