Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Project 83113 is fun, though I hate virtual joysticks for these types of games. Very well done, though. I'd play it more if I could put Pocket Planes down.

I can't explain why Tiny Tower and Pocket Planes is so addicting, especially because if you remove the cutesy veneer it's just a bunch of calculations, but it's a fun diversion.

In a similar vein, I saw that Kairosoft released an RPG simulator, Dungeon Village, a few weeks ago (and I completely missed that they also released Epic Astro Story the month before). Anyone try it? I usually wait for sales on these, but I love all of their games.

I too love the Kairosoft games and also am guilty of waiting until they hit $.99.

Sure, except that it doesn't have virtual joysticks.

Ah, you're right, it uses swipe mechanisms. I couldn't quite remember why I had trouble controlling the little four armed pink thing.

Other things I've downloaded recently:

Avenger is free, it looks like a Castlevania rip off, and I'm always wary of the ones with broken English, but hey, worth a try, right?

ZDay Survial simulator (Universal version and a special ipad 3 HD one) are free, basically a zombie Choose Your Own Adventure Game.

Tower of Fortune is a slot machine themed rpg, though so far I like Kings Cashing better

Been enjoying Where's My Water but it is killing my iPad battery. Is this happening to anybody else?

Maybe you are just playing it too much?

I haven't noticed any difference, but I'm not really paying attention to whether it drains the battery more than any other game. I've played a ton of it though, I'm addicted to this type of formula and tri-ducking every level, I also was addicted to Cut the Rope until I got three stars on everything.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

So anyone still playing Pocket Planes?

Finally gave it a go this weekend and I'm hooked. I know everyone here also visits CAG, so you can join the CAG Flight Crew. #15 in the world right now.

They need to change the way this is implemented, IMHO. Right now, you might as well jump aboard the number 1 flight crew (I think it's toucharcade) if you want the loot, which makes them even stronger and more likely to win.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I'm still on PP, and pretty entrenched in South America so I'm making a move into Central America as a bridge to the US. I might bypass Mexico and just go Cuba to FLA. Still learning as I go...

That's good thinking. I'm close to maxed out (wedding chapel, cineplex, book store, and film studio to go), but I thought I might keep it going. I have 276 of 290 working their dream jobs, but even when I get the rest of my floors and presumably accommodate the rest of those folks, I have some low workers I want to replace.

The catch?
Offer available today only, and only in effect as long as you keep it installed.
All games in the collection will remain free-to-play UNTIL you remove or reinstall the game.

Pretty cool if you like all that old shit (or think you do) ... get it here :

Yes. In fact, they advertise it directly as their first key feature (not that it isn't free for everyone): http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/icade/

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

If you like Tiny Tower, check out No Zombies. It's pretty much a horizontal version of Tiny Tower (Tiny Town, as it were) with the added gameplay of zombies that keep showing up at your town gate.

Anyone else check out Where's My Perry? Its Phineas & Ferb take on Where's My Water. I haven't tried it but the kids seem to like it.

Mass Effect Infiltrator and Sky Gamblers Rise of Glory are also 99c. That's the lowest Mass Effect has ever been.
