Well it feels like my strike rate is about 1/10 for these kind of early bird specials. So, I end up paying the equivalent of $10 per app I actually end up playing. I'm trying to be more cautious these days.

What the heck, I'll try out Jim & Frank Mysteries as well. Thanks for the recommendation. BTW Blades of Fury, one of te Gameloft sale games for 99 cents is really impressive. It's a Soul Calibur clone on par with a 3D PSP fighting game. Too few characters but otherwise really nice. No brainer at that price.

I know what you mean. I generally shy away from anything w/ a digital pad or analog nub. If something looks to be unique or interesting in some way, I will give it a chance though.

That being said, all I have left (to my knowledge) is clear Floor 12 in the tower for the crown. I cannot beat the Gold guy on this floor. My last attempt left him with 12 hit points. Yeah, that one stung a bit.

There is one more floor if you haven't gotten there yet. For that guy I used the Laevatein, saved up a wild card to use on the last hand and either used berserk on the last hand or oracle from the begining. The trick is to work it so you can get anything above a flush along one or more of the edges.

Blast Off is free today and a lot of fun so far. Sort of Flight Control-ish, but with gravity, and more a puzzle game.

Yeah, I had already finished the game and went back to floor 12. Finally beat him yesterday. Saved wild + Oracle + Laevatein = win(method prior to reading your suggestion ). Of course even with this method it still took 3 tries to get the right cards on the table.

Why in God's name can't your game saves be backed up? It seems to spend a hell of a long time syncing every time I hook my touch to the computer, but my game progress doesn't get transferred? My ipod shit the bed when I tried to upgrade to 4.0 and I had to reset it. All my game saves are lost -- I'm having to start Chaos Rings over again and just moved from S&P to S&P2. I guess once you move a game off your iphone, you also lose your game progress, right? That's just moronic.

I'm possibly wrong, but I thought a sync backed up just the apps, while a backup backed up all the apps with their data.

A backup does copy saves, when my ipod died i restored the backup to my new ipod, and the saves were there. This may be different for each app though.

Ah, I guess I never tried that until my ipad was freaking out after the attempted upgrade. By then it was too late. Lesson learned. Thanks.

It took me a bit to figure out the basics of clearing space and upgrading weapons, but I'm pretty hooked on The Creeps
