Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I told my Dad that Oregon Trail was on sale and he looked a little bummed and said "I already have it." I was wondering why he reacted that way.

Ends up he bought it, Trivial Persuit, Uno, Life, Battleship, and many of the other recent sale games only a couple of weeks ago, when they were regular price. He said its like they're watching his recent purchases and then putting them on sale just to mock him.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Gave Oregon Trail trial a spin for a couple of minutes and ended up buying the full game. I used to play the original on Apple IIe machines in school. 5 1/4" Floppy game. Those were the days.

<- old.

5 1/4 rocked
pay for single sided.. then either use a single hole puncher or a pair of scissors and you now have a dual sided disk

I got the new iPhone 4 game Real Racing...WOW, never seen graphics or play like this. Spendy at $4.99 but I really liked it.

Real Racing is great. And it was $9.99 for ages, so it's sort of like you're getting it on sale.

Thanks, Dad! Can I suggest a few more games for him to buy?

Toki Tori is on sale for 99 cents (80% off). I have it for the PC off a Steam sale and it's a great puzzle platformer. Was totally unaware of a iphone version before now. I just checked out the first few levels and it seems to be an outstanding port.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I want to get Oregon Trail, but my iPhone is full, not backed up, and my computer is buggy and not allowing synching. Can't delete songs and movies from the phone itself? That sucks!

JotNot is 99 cents today only. Pretty good utility for scanning almost anything.

of course you can. When you see a list of songs/videos, swipe right on the one you want to delete and you'll see a delete button.

Sweet, thanks. I never saw that, and asked several "more veteran" iphone users at work about it once, and they all said you had to do it thru itunes and synching. Thought it was stupid, should have googled it I guess. Been thinking it a silly flaw for 2 years now.

Ok bit on Oregon Trail thanks to all the recommendations here... Hopefully it can help my Angry Birds addiction for a while.

I don't think that works with songs, just videos (and playlists).

Ah, I delete podxasts all the time that way. Not sure why it's different.

Off topic but, my sons 3rd gen iPod Touch screen was cracked today. Has anyone attempted a self repair?

FYI for the Creeps fans out there, a new puzzle pack was just released. I have only played 2 of the new stages, but they seem enjoyable enough so far.

Yep, always enjoy the new Creeps packs. Only played a few minutes so far, but I like that they seem difficult.

I think the Dilbert app is still free for Scott Adams fans here.

A supposedly pretty good puzzle-platformer called Babylonian Twins is free today. It's gotten good reviews. Probably worth checking out.

hells yes - I was all fancy and bought the disk puncher that made the punches square... I believe that would count as my first "soft mod"

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I decided to pick up Sword & Poker 2 after seeing all the positive comments in this thread about it and I'm glad I did. This is easily one of the best games I've bought for the iPhone.

I'm finally wrapping my game up. I have finished all but 1-2 floors of the Tower with "Crowns." Total guess, but I'd say I sunk a good 30+ hours into the game. Now when I'm done I'll have to pick up the first game.
