Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
A heads up for those who don't have Rolando. Ngmoco will be removing Rolando and its lite version when Rolando 2 comes out on July 1st. It's not clear if or when Ngmoco will add the original game again.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Topple 2 is on sale for 99 cents.

Quite shifty of Ngmoco I think. |

If you already own it you should make sure you have a copy downloaded unless you want to lose it. Otherwise, you should wait for Rolando 2.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I'm enjoying Hero of Sparta immensely. Not quite as polished in regards to graphics and gameplay to God of War (in which this game "borrows" from) because of hardware limitations but this is a great game for the iPod/iPhone.
I also went ahead and purchased Knights Onrush and Stoneloops of Jurassica since it's on sale for 99 cents. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
It's been mentioned several times already but the game I can't stop playing is Flight Control. Well worth the $1.

Are you sure Knights Onrush is still 99 cents. It shows 2.99 on the App Store.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
A few questions for you Touch gamers:
1.I'm in the market right now for one, but I've heard about a new model coming at the end of the year. Are there any rumored features great enough that I should wait over buying now? 2.Is 16GB enough for most of you between music and apps and games? 3.What case do you guys use? I want one that doesn't get in the way of games, and can be found on Amazon. Any suggestions? 4.Is 3.0 a must as soon as I get the system, or can it wait? |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I am glad i got a 32 gig. I bought a refurb and it was 50$ more expensive than a new 16. Right now i have about 7 gigs of free space. I listen to/watch a ton of podcasts so perhaps i use more space?
I am using a simple silicone skin for the back and sides and don't have any kind of screen protector on mine. The skin was an extra one somebody gave me and it works fine but i don't like the fact it is white and translucent. Eventually i want to snag something darker but the skin itself is nice because it makes the Touch a little more grippy and has probably kept me from dropping it multiple times. I know nothing about a new model. I just updated to 3.0 today because a couple of my apps were going to no longer receive updates unless i had the 3.0 OS installed. Kind of crappy imo but i still did it. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Yes get the upgrade right now. I have a 1st gen which the update was the least helpful for and I still think it's worth it. Also the ipod refresh is usually in september not the end of the year so really your not waiting that long.
|
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I know but I still don't really want to wait another 2+ months if we don't know anything concrete about it. I am impatient!
|
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
You can be pretty confident that in September there will be a new iPod Touch that will be equivalent to the iPhone 3GS minus the phone part. So that should give you an idea of the feature set.
As far as how much space I use, I've been sitting at 22-24 gig since I bought it at the start of the year and I don't see that changing in the future. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I think you can guarantee that the processor will be the same as the 3gs which is faster then the second touch.
|
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I have the 32gig Touch. Around 125 albums, 30-odd games, 2 full-length movies, one Pixar short and a few music videos... and I'm a little over half full. It's better to have too much memory than not enough :)
Like xmiyux mentioned, I also have a silicone skin (Belkin and it's black) along with a screen protector. Both work very nice. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I think I might go for the 16GB for now, see how much I like/use it, and then upgrade to a 32GB in the fall if it's enough of an upgrade.
|
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
How much do you actually save going for the 16GB? Seems like it might be a bit of a waste of money.

That is kind of what i think as well. If you are between the two and can afford extending to the 32 gigs i don't think you will regret it.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
The difference between the 16 and 32 is $100 and I would rather not spend the extra money at this point. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to get a ton of use out of it, so I think I will grab the 16, and if I am into it when the new models come out I will sell and upgrade to the 32.
