By the way, do they at least delve a little more into the new gameplay mechanics and wether Sullivan and Elena will at least have cameos? The ending of the first game gave the impression that Nate would take Elena along with him on his latest adventure. However, from what I've read, that doesn't seem to be the case. That bugs me because the trio of Nate, Sully, and Elena was a big part of why I found the first game so enjoyable despite it's flaws.

The article in GI states that Naughty Dog isn't talking about Sully and Elena so who knows! Maybe they'll have a cameo or something?

Did anyone else notice that next door you can make a phone call, browse the web AND contract herpes??

Not for nothing but I wish the game actually contained a crazy PSA to that effect. Even if just a joke video that you had to unlock somehow.

Well I finally got to read that GameInformer article today (I was browsing the magazine while waiting on line to pick up my copy of Onimusha ESSENTIALS) and really got excited about one particular detail. Although I loved the relaxed stealth mechanics (you can go in and out of stealth on the fly and are never required to sneak around), the improved melee system (it plays more like a real brawl between to guys who can handle themselves), and that you can aim while maintaining cover (you can even blind fire), what really got me excited is that standard grunts take only a few shots to kill.

If there's one thing that pissed me off more than the ridiculously endless wave of badguys that'd show up in each area is how they went from nigh invinsible to even more nigh invinsible. Apparently only heavily armored thugs will take extra firepower to dispatch. This will certainly help balance things as it certainly got ridiculous towards the end of the first game.

That looks world's better than the first one. I really enjoyed the Uncharted, but it certainly wasn't close to the best PS3 game I've played. I can think of 4-5 others I've liked a lot better.

I would understand MGS4 though it's not my thing...I got a lot of fun out of Warhawk...LittleBigPlanet is pretty original...and that's all I've got.

I think those screens are indeed in-game shots. You can even see aliasing which is always present in PS3 (and all other console) games. The shots have just been softened (as magazines usually do) to hide the aliasing.

So will this game be 720p or 1080p? If the latter, will it be a native 1080p image or simply 720p upscalled to 1080p? I just hope they don't pull a Soul Calibur IV where the so-called 1080p setting was actually 576p upscaled to 1080p.

You can probably get out of this dramatic situation just by hitting the circle button

The article actually states that you play through that whole sequence and get to melee combat some goons along the way. I think the scene in question is just a cinematic (as seen in one of the trailers) that sets up the whole level. Think of it as a much bigger version of that part in the first game where you had to outrun the collapsing floor.

I don't see how anyone who has played or seen the first one could doubt that these are in-game shots. That game looked amazing.
