OMG I can't wait a whole month

I preordered at GameStop today, paid the game off, and I got the demo.

This is soooooooooooo great!!!

Gamesradar just gave it a 10 but now the review got taken down for some reason.

Fantastic cutscenes tell a very good if not perfect story.

10 Graphics
Absolutely the best of the best these days. Your jaw will drop.

9.5 Sound
Great weapon effects, fantastic voice acting and a mostly brilliant (though sometimes overdone) soundtrack.

9.5 Gameplay
Great gunplay, stealth works very well (mostly), the puzzles are rewarding and, maybe even best of all, a killer online component.

9.5 Lasting Appeal
The game is give or take about 10 hours in length, which feels right, but then there's the multiplayer. Yes, you will be hooked.

The only thing that makes me sad is that Brutal Legend will be an awesome game too, but it releases the same day as U2, so it will not sell as well as it should because of U2.

God, this sounds great. It can't possibly be as good as everyone's saying, can it? I'm really looking forward to this. Hope I can finish it in two weeks so I can start up R&C right afterward. October is looking pretty sweet, indeed.

GTAIV was/is a steaming turd and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as any Uncharted game

GTA IV was awesome.

GTA IV was certainly overrated to high hell but it wasn't THAT bad. And as much as I like Uncharted, the first was great but nothing mindblowing.

just played and beat the 1st one this week. Absolutely loved the concept and game play Im sure the follow up will be awesome! cant wait!

I liked the first one my first time through when I was playing with my usual methodical trench-warfare style of "find distant cover...kill nearest dude...move up". But my second time through, I learned some of the hand-to-hand combat, and it became an entirely different and phenomenal game.

I strongly recommend that folks who just thought the first game was decent go back and learn the "brutal combo". There's nothing like sneaking into a room to stealth kill the first dude, running to the second dude and knocking him the f' out, taking his weapon and cover to heal for a second, then popping out and shotgunning the other two dudes at point blank range. I can't think of another game that captures that feeling quite the same way.

Maybe, but I generally don't take the time to shop around in order to save a few bucks.

I have GTA4 but havent played it. I can say its graphics are absolute shit (my TV doesnt support 720) and Mercs 2 looks tons better.

This may be the only game I buy on release day. A TRU deal would push me over the edge

Luckily if there is a deal it will be in this thread so it'll come to you. And TRU's deals are usually better than "a few bucks". If they do a deal on this, I wouldn't be surprised to see a gift card in the $20-$30 range.

I'm surprised IGN rated this a little lower than MGS4. I think even the first Uncharted was better than MGS4.

The problem with TRU deals is that it has to be used there, and usually expires a couple of weeks later. Their game prices are pretty bad compared to most places so the gas I waste going there, along with my time do not justify even a 20 dollar gift card. Amazon it is for me.
