Now it's in Sparks, NV. Haven't opened the new one yet, but if the box doesn't appear at the office tomorrow (and it almost certainly won't), I'm playing the Arcade model over the weekend.

I just got a new Pro model for Christmas and the one stick on the controller squeaks when I move it. Any suggestions on how to stop it from doing so?

Yeah i thought having UPS hold the package for me so I can go pick it up after work would've been easy. Boy was I wrong. They still tried to deliver it, wasn't at the location when I was told it would be there, and ended up having to come in late to work to pick it up 2 days later.

how many people use their 360 as a media center extender?

i setup mine today to connect to my vista media center pc.. setup was a piece of cake.. have added in my libraries to the watched folders..
but right now, Im not all that happy with the responsiveness of it

i ran the connection test and got a max score.. all green up past hdtv quality.. so i dont think its the connection

is it because i just setup the extender and the library info is still importing? or will the menus always be this laggy?

I don't use the official Media Extender, I use TVersity, but yes, it does take a little while to load everything; for instance, if I go into Music, which refers to my itunes directory, it's probably 1-3 minutes before I can do anything. Once it's there, browsing and playback is pretty good.
It might just be the speed of your network, or the "upload" speed of your vista PC.

its a directly wired to a 100mb network.. so i dont think its going to be the speed between the pc and the xbox..

for now.. i guess ill drop back and play a game and come back to it later.. see if it moved any quicker

I would also recommend checking out PlayOn. It has been great for streaming Netflix things not allowed on Live as well as Hulu.

I use both my 360 and PS3 as media extenders. I do not like the official Microsoft Media Center though. It is slow and it doesn't support codecs I can play fine through the regular Xbox360 video/audio player, TVersity and PlayOn. Combined with TVersity and PlayOn its basically the perfect media extender for my needs. I also have my 360 hard wired so everything is fast and no real lag. I gave up on using the Media Center feature though.

Under My Xbox press the Y button on the game in the disc drive. Should be the first option "Install to Hard Drive"

PlayOn lets you stream Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, CNN (iirc), and ESPN. Give the trial a shot - it is free for like 60 days iirc.

found it: you have to be in the dash board - highlight the game - hit "Y" and then it downloads.

Anyone try the new Lord of the Rings game Demo? I doubt anyone here will like it but it seemed fun. I might pick it up when the price drops.
