I actually think the red controller feels better than the white and black controller. It feels like it has more weight to it and a better grip. I also may just be crazy. Thanks for the short window warning. The order itself was on the 19th so I'm still on that window. Just selected the RMA-exchange-get printed label by mail option. Not in a hurry as I have the other one. I LOVE the feel of the controller, it feels better to me too (and other people say the same thing in reviews). If it wasn't for the squeaking, it would be perfect. |

I haven't had any issues from my red controller. Mine came from buy.com a few months back.

Well, my XB finally got the RROD a few days ago. Manuf date was 12/05. I've had it for 2+ yrs. Anyway, called up MS directly since for some reason my Live ID was not associated with my serial number. No problems dealing with their CS. Just an FYI for everyone, they NO longer send out the coffins for a repair. They WILL send you a prepaid shipping label. So you have to find or buy your own shipping box. Dropped it off to UPS and it will go out on Monday; the wait begins.....
But of course, the impatient side of me wants to run and buy a new Arcade (I recently bought a 120gb HD so I don't need/want the Pro) and sell my orig unit when I get it back. This way I... (a) can still play games and not wait for my orig to get returned, (b) get a Jasper unit, (c) and I've wanted one with HDMI. Did anyone else do what I'm thinking of? OR should I just be patient and wait for mine to get fixed? :D |

I did pretty much that. I had already bought a 120 HD, and have an original 20 GB HDD in a box. I bought an Arcade Jasper from Dell for $158 + tax. My repaired unit just came back from its second repair (and now unit swap) in Texas. I'm selling that Xenon Pro with the 20 GB HD to one of my employees for her son for $125. So for $30, I've upgraded to the Jasper, have the HDMI output (which I'm not using), have an infinitely quieter unit, got the Sega Superstar Tennis game which my daughter likes, and no longer have an old 20 GB HD cluttering up my house. Also have a full warranty for a year.
Bottom line : This strategy = WIN. Especially now that the units are so cheap at Dell. I bet I could have gotten more for the Pro on Ebay, but this is easier. As far as I know, you can advertise the returned unit as under manufacturer's warranty for 3 months, BTW. |

My only complaint is the ugly white CD tray that clashes with every custom faceplate I have. Still, for that price (and with that quiet drive), I won't complain...much. |

So Decker more info on the 7% off? I created a new Dell account, and my work provides 7% off but it seems to be only off PCs and TVs. How did you get the 7% off? Thanks! :) Well couldn't figure it out so I chatted with a Dell rep and they walked me through it... $158 + tax ... $170... hmmm... tempting tempting especially since a Roku box is $120 so for $50 more you have an XBOX. I wanted to add Netflix to another room, and this would also add gaming, music, videos, etc... what to do what to do. With PlayOn I also would have Hulu and some other stuff. |

My second repair was super-quick. Like one day or two tops. I had just assumed it was a console swap, as I posted above, but it turns out they really did repair mine and it seems to work fine now. I'm still selling it, but at least this time they seem to have their act together.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, Fry's is selling that 360 custom faceplate with the 32 NFL team inserts that went for $29.99 originally for only $4.99. It seems to be the only one that won't clash with the Arcade's while disc tray, but like so many faceplates, it only looks good vertically orientated
