I just got this too!

And yes, it's the new version of the beta apparently.

So... I'm roaming around home... anyone else? More specifically, if anyone is, do you have any recommendations as to what to do? I played some echochrome and icebreaker, watched people play chess, and went into a bunch of empty stores and watched some videos on the runby. Anyone else got some ideas?

I'm downloading it right now. It's going pretty slow too.

EDIT: I have to wonder how many people were selected for this beta. The file is 77mb and its still downloading for me almost 30min later. I have some slow downloads on the PS Network but not like this.

Meh, Home is pretty boring. There's definite potential, but we'll see if it's realized.

tlwizard: Where did you see people playing chess? I didn't notice it in the bowling alley. Somewhere in central plaza?

Upper level of the mall.

And I agree. I think there's definite potential that's not being realized. About all there is right now is to talk to random people, dance, or pretend that those girls running around are really female players.

Home is interesting, but overall I don't see myself hanging out there much. The wait for stuff like bowling is kind of a bummer. I don't want to sit around and wait for something in this virtual world. Tried pool and it was terrible, but Echochrome was fun to play.

Once Home really gets up and running, I think the main thing it's going to be good for is as a staging area for multiplayer games. Some of the other stuff is cool, but just imagine inviting some of your friends over to your "apartment" and strategizing for a bit, them launching into a game of Killzone 2 or whatever straight from Home.

I got an invite also, but I got bored really quick so I sat on the ground and watched the Fry Cry 2 trailer 5 times.

I'm in too. Seems like there might be a lot of untapped potential.

There were like three "chicks" and like 40 dudes tryin' to mack to them. It was quite pathetic.

Other than that, pool was fun. But I sucked at Bowling.

Forget to mention one of the other things you can do is listen to music at the music station. I enjoyed the Blackalicious track. In reading around I've read that there's an Echochrome costume you can unlock or something, but I have yet to discover how.

I also want to say (mirroring a topic the xbox users are having right now) I have no desire to spend real money for imaginary clothes and furnishings. I have no idea whether or not they're going to charge for that, but I certainly hope they don't.
