My CC told my nephew (when he went to buy our copies) that they were only shipping the 1600 points cards. That sucks, but I have enough to play until it comes.

My Best Buy didn't get their tanks in. They gave me a voucher, SWORE they'd have them in on Sunday and gave me a free month of Live for my trouble, which I thought was pretty nice. Looking forward to opening up the game tonight.

Sucks. When I went to my CC, they had 1600 pt cards, but they ran out of the regular version of the game. They only had the SE, but I wasn't willing to spend the extra $10.

How far are you? The only thing I've been disappointed in so far is fighting the Brumak. How anticlimactic. 3-4 hits with the mortar and it's down for the count.

A friend of mine got it today and showed me at lunch. Looks pretty cool, not fantastic but definitely better than I expected. I was thinking it'd be ultra cheap plastic. It's a tad above cheap but definitely not anything fancy either. It has some good weight to it as well.
For comparison, the 12" Master Chief figures are more impressive.

Exchanged a ToysRUs purchase (NBA Live 2009) with Gears of War 2, and got a $15 gift card as well. Now I'm tempted to exchange another game with Quantum of Solace for another gift receipt

Man, is it me or is Hardcore tougher than Gears 1? I'm playing co-op with someone who I beat a few acts of Gears 1 on Insane with and we are dying left and right.

I've done basically Act I and II on hardcore by myself and a couple of chapters co-op and thought it was much easier than Gears 1. Felt like I was just breezing through the game with only a couple of spots that gave me issues.
It's pretty big. Just going off memory, it's at least 2' long.

Fucking fantastic game - I'm worn out from playing the single player already - very intense.
Couple of glitches already during single player and I haven't been able to get online yet - I'm sure that will be fixed soon though.
Love it.

Sorry if this was already covered : My code for the 5 free maps is coming up "Not Valid". Is anyone else having this problem? I have no idea why that would be, and I've checked it numerous times.
If every one with the game gets the bonus maps for free, then why do we have to enter a stupid code in the first place?

It's a one-time use code. This way, if a person buys the game used and the code was already entered (as it almost always will have been), then it's like they're not getting the full game. This is the industry's way of fighting the sale of used games.

just finished this.
really awesome game.
The game is fairly easy on casual. similar to GOW1.
The last boss is very easy and not much of a challenge at all.

Yeah, my turret was on fire as well. I actually ran out of mortars myself, but somehow a split second after that the last Locust went down and I got the cut scene. Lame advice, but choose your shots carefully. Wait until they are in clusters to take 'em out.

I couldn't get on at all yesterday as I kept getting a "remote parties restarted matchmaking process" message. Did a search and found a potential solution on gamefaqs of all places. The suggestion was to run the network test from the dashboard and then try multiplayer. I did the test, booted up the game, and was able to get into a Horde game within about a minute.

Apparently I was still up and walking around on his screen not crawling around like on my screen so he couldn't revive me.
Another good one, I saw a Locust walking in mid-air in Horde mode.
