Re: Gears of War 2 Discussion Thread
I had to do a double take on the thread...yea it's going way, way back. Well congrads on playing thru it..great game by the way. It's been awhile playing horde let alone the storyline. Not sure if I can go thru the whole game with you in coop (trying to finish Batman:AA and have Medal of Honor waiting aftewards) but I can jump in if you need someone. Just hope I can remember some stuff. Add me if you wish....

I haven’t played the campaign since the first run through when it first came out on normal difficulty. I might be able to run through a few levels with you as well as long as its shorter play times (1-2 hour sittings). You can add me too if you would like.

I have been playing 1 & 2 for the last 3 months or so getting all remaining achievements I can get. Played thru both campaigns and HORDE mode with my friend. I wasn't able to get all of them 'cause online just plain sucks for both, unlike the fun I had with GEARS 3 beta...
4 player Co-op Story! Online!! Beast!!! Horde 2.0!!!! I'm ready for GEARS 3!!!!!

Play some Horde, the first console game to do that. Still one of the best MP modes in any console.
I may be able to help in the weekends too.

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the GoW3 thread where people will actually see it, but in the interest of not turning that thread into a GoW2 discussion:

Yea...I've been reminded since those who make it to "veteran" get a little bonus out of GOW3. I'm glad to see the "Tickers invasion" instead of some of the other. Quick way to rack up points.

Re: Gears of War 2 Discussion Thread
just got back into this game after abandoning it when i got stuck in the very beginning. picked it back up and got through the first chapter and had a blast!
wow! did i not give this great game a chance. it is incredibly fun and gut-busting. pure 3rd person shooter, but that is ok. i really like the dialogue and interactions with the Gears. ths shooting is precise and the variety of enemy is pretty good. the atmosphere is dark, forebodding and wonderful, gorgeous in some spots and great fluidity over all.
is it always intense in terms of the battles or are there times of one-on-one enemy gunplay?
they are fierce and frought with tension. i still don't have all the moves down yet, but i think once i do i will enjoy it even more.
is there anyway to change difficulty level once you begin a campaign?
i am on normal and it is tough for me, but i am making my way through, just wondering if at all possible if it gets too frustrating...
what a great ride so far. so glad i got GOW 3 with that MS $9.99 deal.
is it just as good as 2 or even more refined and better as sequels tend to be?

This makes me wonder if they are trying to drum up some interest in the game again. Almost like we can expect a Gears 2 remaster announcement at E3

Re: Gears of War 2 Discussion Thread
I still have my 360 and all the GOW games....I think many look at GOW2 as the best out there even though GOW3 improved it many ways but it was a big leap over the original. Still the GOW series was one of my favorites; could not beat the Horde Matches when done with friends. I don't think any game has come close. I did get GOW4 but haven't finished it on the PC....
