I imagine i will buy DLC like this:

Song available in both RB and GH and i want it.... buy in RB.
Song available just RB and i want it... buy in RB.
Song available in GH DLC, not announced RB, and i like it... buy in GH.
Song available in GH DLC, announced for RB, and i like it... depends. If it is a year away i will buy in GH. If it is like 3 days then RB. If i need to doubledip because i really like a song.... it's just two bucks.

All this assumes both my wife and Unclegramps let me.

I guess I am in the minority....super hyped for Jessie's Girl and Hot Blooded. No Rain is also a definite purchase.

New REM? I think that is the suck, but I may get the Supernatural song.

As far as DLC for RB or GH? Whoever comes out with it first, wins.

I'm in for Jessie's Girl and Hot Blooded, but I can't stand No Rain. It might be my most hated song ever.

Agreed. Since I already have a large library of songs in RB, it will probably continue to get the majority of my play time. Because of that, my GH DLC purchases will be limited to exclusive content that I really like.

Ditto on this!

Unless of course GH:WT turns out to be crappy, or I just don't care for the game compared to RB2... anything is possible...

Get it now. It's become one of my favorite tracks to play! So much fun!

Community Countdown - Day 10: Wait Bass is More Fun?

Community Countdown - Day 10: Wait Bass is More Fun? - Guitar Hero: World Tour will be adding a new dimension to the bass. The open note strum will occur when a solid line is on the fretboard similiar to the bass line in the drums and you are to just strum without pressing any of the fret buttons. Bass will actually be fun to play?
I love playing bass. I just "get" the bass groove. My ear can pick it up easily. Some dont like it at all or just cant "hear" the bass like they can the lead so avoid it. I love playing lead but bass is a blast to play if its charted right and the song has a good bass line.

Good bass players are seriously underrated.

I'm glad they're pacing themselves with the hype. We have a long way to go anyway.

Wait...

Three weeks is a long time? What? There was more info in the DLC announcement than all these daily tidbits combined. Give me something substantial. How about a 5 song demo? Since all the instruments should be compatible out of the gate I say bring it on.

Damn. I obviously missed that little four letter word at the end. I need to just focus on work for just one day.

I have never played bass in any of the the games, RB or GH. What song do you recommend for trying bass?

(And I hope my wife let me play it)

How does not pressing a fret button on bass, make it more fun? I think fun bass songs make bass more fun.

It makes it more "real". Open notes are (apparently) common in actual use.

Suck My Kiss is one that comes to mind.
Helicopter? is another.
Both are in GH3.

An open note makes bass more realistic, more challenging for the bass player.

Now what RedOctane needs is an actual bass guitar like the RB2 one with dual strum bars. Being able to slap the touch pad will be neat, but for the complete bass playing experience you need the double strums.

Community Countdown Day 11: Vocals!

Community Countdown Day 11: Vocals! - Guitar Hero World Tour will not only be adding a new awesome Drum Set into the mix, but you'll also be able to sing your little hearts out with a new high performance microphone! All those days of singing in the car and in the shower will finally come in handy, as you can turn your secret skills into Guitar Hero greatness!
They must be writing these as soon as the get in to work and throw them up on the web.

It would really be nice if they would link in come game footage or exactly how the singing mechanic works. These generic soundbites are gettin' lame.

A high performance mic? What does that mean and what does it do exactly? They could mention how it connects, how it interacts with the game, how you score and such.

Isn't it just the exact same Logitech USB mic that is included with Rock Band (but with a Guitar Hero logo on it)?

Community Countdown Day 12: My Very Own Guitar? YAY! - Guitar Hero World Tour there will be a new feature that allows you to create your own guitar. Imagine shredding and pulling insane solos off your very own custom-made guitar.

Community Countdown Day 13: Neck Slider

Community Countdown Day 13: Neck Slider - Guitar Hero World Tour will have a whole new look to the guitar. It will have a touch sensitive neck slider that will provide extra umph to sustain notes when you slide your hand along it. The neck slider will also be used for the notes that are connected by a purple line called "Slider Gems". You simply slide along the neck slider following the purple line, but is it as easy as it looks?
Anyone seen when they will have the new guitar only for sale or links to it?
Id like to end up with two of the new guitars so there isnt any complaining when family members battle each other.

"Well so and so has the good guitar!" "I'd a won with the new guitar!"

Guitar only meaning no game, just guitar.
Or drums only for that matter. Drums only, no game. Can you even play drummer vs. drummer locally?

Another obvious Countdown day, but are they doing away with the detachable neck?

Still detachable. There is a redesigned connect that is more reliable. There are pics somewhere out there but I cant find them right now.

Ahh, so even if they mentioned that, it would have still been old news. I love it. No pressure, but I'd love to see some pics if you can find 'em later.

< 2 weeks. Again, I ask "where is the hype/buzz? What's going on in the world of GH?"

It was nice to get some DLC info last week, but I'm totally not excited for this right now.
