I don't really drum much, so my opinion won't matter, but I find the decision to use purple as the kick color (or open note on bass) to be beyond poor. It just doesn't stand out enough. Should have switched it for one of the lighter ones.
But I do like the addition of drum sustains instead of timed rolls, that should be easier and more fun. Assuming I understand what I'm seeing or talking about.

yeah, the purple was tough to see.
The rolls still seem to be there, but the cymbal sustains look kinda cool.

I think maybe the purple will look better once we're not looking at a low-res crap quality youtube of it. I can't imagine they would make it be something that is impossible to distinguish, I mean, they did have this crap playtested, right?

I absolutely suck on drums (mid-medium at best), but the GH drums sound 100% better than the RB2 drums. The 'free' sections where the guys are just tapping around sound awesome.

I could be wrong, but I thought the guy who posted all the vids was using an RB drumset.

The set doesn't have anything to do with how the game produces the sound. I just mean their sampling sounds better. The RB games sound 'flat' or 'hollow' to me, and that shitty-rez vid has a nice deep tone to it.

Ok. I thought you were talking about the volume produced by the sticks bouncing off the pads, on the set itself-not in game stuff. My bad.

I think the clip for "The One I Love" (R.E.M.) has both drums and guitar being played in it. I can't remember any others off the top of my head.

Just got my copy today! Gonna fire it up in a few hours and try to beat a Hard career with my friend tonight. I'll let you guys know if it can compete with Rock Band 2 or not

Actually - I didn't notice in that REM vid how the drummer engaged Star Power... because in GH you hit the cymbals and the kick pedal right...so how can that be done with the RB kit? Because some songs will use the kick and the Green/Red all at once anyway.
