You can get 1 month if needed, and then in a couple weeks when I'm a little less broke I can get the 1 yr card it's not that I am perpetually broke just had to pay a bunch of things at once bad timing that's all.

I'm sure I have a 48 hr. trial laying around if you want it Spicolli to hop on and get the game.

Loved Uno Rush...not sure why it is $10 though. The moment that becomes a deal of the week, it is mine.

Trials don't work toward getting a gold account. I couldn't download any gold member demos while on a trial.

On another note I downloaded Alien Hominid HD and it's pretty fun. I saw a lot of people complain about how hard easy mode is but so far it's pretty damn easy. I've only cleared the first Act though. Maybe the Russia levels are harder...

I've gone through the game in easy mode and there are a few bosses that took me awhile to figure out. However, the game seems pretty easy on easy mode. I also finally learned that I could dig myself into the ground which is pretty helpful and probably could have came in handy a bit earlier...

DISHWASHER.

I WAS going to spend all of tonight working on my music, but now I have a distraction.

Is it good? IGN Review is an unenthusiastic 7.3. If it's not as good and just as hard as Alien Hominid, maybe I should get that instead at half the price?

I'd listen to the review, they're always on mark and reliable.

If you ignore all reviews, that's fine. But if you are looking for a reliable source for XBLA reviews, I always go to IGN. They're much more reflective of my personal taste (most of the time) than Team Xbox who never met an XBLA game they didn't like enough to give a score of at least 8.5 to. I find the OXM reviews to be too cursory in their reviews and hit & miss with their scoring. If you have another site you like better for XBLA reviews, please let me know.

I liked the demo but the constant breaks in the action changing rooms might end up getting annoying.

Or since there's a free trial available for every single XBLA game, why not just try it yourself? I will check reviews sometimes, but unless it says "this game is broken" I still try it myself. (redownloaded Alien Hominid, for example, and reinforced that I still don't like it very much, even for 400 points).
I don't see the appeal of Uno Rush either, I couldn't get into it.

Oh, I'm with you 100%. Hell, I even checked out the demo of that Crazy Mouse game. But I've been fooled by demos before. And anyone who bought Watchmen at 1600 points could tell you that demos don't always tell the whole story. My biggest concerns are games where the gameplay gets old or repetitive or if the game is really short and has no replayability. Those are things you really need a review (or a friend who owns the game) to tell you.

And you need people to give you reviews of Community Games since there is an absolute boatload of them and most of them are complete garbage.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Very true about the Community Games. I've tried a few, but there's just so darn many, and the descriptions and screenshots sometimes don't give you a lot of information.
Hexothermic is an interesting puzzle game, I might buy that one. There's definitely advantages to reading reviews, I'll agree with you. I have played some XBLA games that were great the first few plays but then lost their charm. That's actually when I look at a review--i"ll play the trial, consider buying it, then go check the reviews for replayability and longevity.
And at risk of being branded a blasphemer, Peggle isn't *that* good. It's good, but I don't think it's Game of All Games like many people, gamers and pro reviewers alike, seem to think. (disclaimer: I have bought Peggle, I'm about 75% of the way through Adventure mode.)

I wasn't too impressed with the Dishwasher demo.

WARNING: PRICE DISCUSSION AHEAD!

Spoiler:
It would be a great 400 point Community game, but to me, it's not an 800 point XBLA game. The story and presentation have that rough, unpolished Community Game feel and it was already getting repetitive before the demo was over. It's not a bad game by any stretch, just not particularly fun for me.

On the other hand, Uno Rush was a pleasant surprise. If I knew more people who had the game, I'd get it, but as it stands, I don't think I'd play it enough to justify the cost.

I'd play it with you and most of my RL friends have it too.

Anyone know what the live discounts are going to be after alien hominid? I don't think I've seen anything mentioned yet.
