Peggle!!

edit: Hmm, Crystal Defenders is a Tower Defense game, interesting. I'm surprised I never heard of it. The graphics are pretty low res looking though, it looks like they ripped the sprites directly from FF Tactics A2. And why the hell is the game window-boxed like that?

Is the xbox peggle exactly the same as the pc version or is it completely different levels?

If you want to wait another 2 weeks, want FF2 and Heavy Weapon, and don't mind disc-based XBLA titles, you can get all 3 for $20 on Popcap Arcade Vol 2. If there was a 4th title on here, I would consider it, but tax will pretty much negate the package savings here.

It is FF based. It was recently released for ipod. Haven't played it though. After PixlJunk Monsters, other tower defense games don't do much for me.

Peggle for me! Haven't gotten an XBLA game in awhile, so that's exciting.

Apparently it's the same 55 levels. Two online multiplayer modes, including a wacky 4-at-once mode. More content available by DLC (likely including Peggle Nights).

I'm still getting it, but they really should have come up with some new levels for Peggle addicts who have played the original to death already. Still MP should be fun.

Maybe they just assumed that those that already played would still buy it no matter what.

 ;)

I've got a friend who has it on 2 formats and will be making this his 3rd. :)

I know its based on FF Tactics A2, that is why I mentioned it. You would think they could of cleaned up the sprites a bit better than they look. That along with being window boxed 4:3 make it look pretty damn bad.

Thanks for the heads up - my hard drive is down to like 1 gig free, so this is a better option for me :)

Too bad those discs don't include download codes. I haven't played Uno or Pac-Man CE in ages because I'm too lazy to swap out discs. Also it's noisy as hell reading off the disc since the hd install doesn't seem to work with the xbox arcade disc.

That will be me as well. You know what's ironic about that? I will have bought Peggle for the ipod, PC and 360, will be able to play Peggle on my home, work, laptop computer, on my ipod and my 360 and still will have paid less in total than if I had purhcased Watchmen last week. And I'm sure going to get more than 3 hours of play time out of Peggle.

I admit, I have never looked for nor played Peggle before all this talk. You guys seem pretty excited, so I pulled the demo from PopCap and I think I might be sold too.

Not sure how it'll control on the 360, but it should look beautiful on the system. So it might be a DS purchase if the 360 controls are sketchy. My daughters should like it too.

Looking forward to Wednesday now.

Same although I haven't even played the demo, might just blind buy it. That's what sucks when they price games $10 or lower, you always are thinking "It's just $10". For every Puzzle Quest I've bought and played dozens (possibly over 100?) hours into is a Castlevania: SOTN which I have only put about 10 minutes into.

 I may have 5 more minutes of experience in SOTN than you. But it can't be more than that. I think I only played the Galaga remix game once as well. I still have no idea how to play Super Puzzle Fighter HD and can't comprehend why I went and sprung for the full game when I clearly had no idea how to play the demo. Some impulse buys remain just that.

One thing I will say : I've never made a foolish impulse buy on XBLA at 1200 or 1600 points. That much is certain. ;)

It's kind of like a pachinco machine. You fire a ball at the top after aiming it and it bounces and falls down hitting pegs and you try to clear the colored one. It sounds boring and lame, but really it's addictive fun.

Try this demo and see. Or buy it for the PC. It's only $2.50 with code blitz1.

I just noticed this on the marketplace: 2008 Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards (37MB).

I guess this is how we are supposed to vote in the XBLA awards. Just FYI...

I will have to check out the Crystal Defenders demo.

I don't think i will bite on yet another version of Peggle. Don't get me wrong, i really enjoy Peggle but i played it to death on the PC and have considered getting the DS version since it is supposed to have some new stages.
