I can't keep up with PSPlus. It is ridiculous the amount of high quality games you get with the membership.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I started playing Castle of Illusion last night. Call this hyperbole, whatever, I don't care but it is a late addition to my personal "favorite games of the year" list. Yeah, the controls are iffy at times and the framerate isn't perfect but by God is it not one of the most charming and smile inducing games I've ever played. It's under $4 on PSN so give it a shot. I played it for at least a couple hours last night and had a ball, and my wife enjoyed watching it as well.

It has Sully from Uncharted as the narrator, as you play (I keep it on, it adds so much) and it also has, well, this...

I also picked it up and played it for a few hours last night while the wife and kids watched. We all had fun, except that my kids (ages 3 and 4) kept wanting to play, and they can't quite grasp the the concept of walking and jumping at the same time yet.

Like someone else said, by the time I'm ready to play some of these games, they're free! I'm sure, for instance, that there are a ton of people waiting on Knack expecting that to be a free title someday soon.

It has been a long time since I've played a disc game in the PS3. I actually bought GTA V digital, and have been playing all the Plus freebies. Uncharted 3 may have been the last disc game I played.

Fact.

I'm honestly a little bit overwhelmed. I finished Saints Row 3 and Contrast, and I made it through most of Binary Domain, but otherwise, I haven't been keeping up my end of the bargain.

BTW chess have you still got NFS Rivals. I got a copy from Gamefly that I have been dying to try out and I think we should set aside our Warfame and AC Black Flag addiction to check it out for at least one night.

I can't even download all the games I have access to because my HD can't fit them all. I did just finish Quantum Conundrum 100%, which was free on plus a year ago. I also played through Poker Night 2, which is pretty funny at times, but boy does the game lag and freeze. No crashes, but always looks like it's going to.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Just a little update about Don't Starve, the PS4 freebie we'll be getting later today. I left my PS4 in Standby mode so I should have the game downloaded by the time I get home

Don’t Starve Out Today on PS4, Free for PS Plus

+ Posted by Corey Rollins // Community Manager, Klei Entertainment

Hey everyone! I’m Corey Rollins from Klei Entertainment, and I’m here to talk about our newest PS4 downloadable game: Don’t Starve. It’s available today on PlayStation Store for $14.99 and it’s free for PlayStation Plus.

If you’re new to the game, Don’t Starve is an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic. While there are many unique characters to discover and unlock along the way, you’ll start as the gentleman scientist, Wilson. After being lured with infinite knowledge by a demon named Maxwell, Wilson finds himself trapped in a mysterious and unforgiving world. Wilson must learn to exploit his environment and its inhabitants if he ever hopes to escape and find his way back home.

Don’t Starve is a game that gives no instruction, and forces players to adapt or die in the process. And oh my, die you will! After every death, a new world is procedurally generated, and you’ll find yourself scrambling to gather resources, explore the world, encounter bizarre creatures, and play your own way to unravel the mysteries around you.

One of the biggest features of the console edition is the inclusion of every single update since the game’s PC launch. After Don’t Starve’s original release, we committed to releasing regular content updates every 3 weeks for 6 months. In the PS4 version you’ll have them all right from day one, including the massive Caves update and the discoverable “Adventure Mode” which will let you embark on a journey through multiple randomly generated unique worlds in an effort to escape.

Alright folks! You’re ready to begin your quest as esteemed intrepid explorers and champions of science! We’ve poured a ton of love into this game and developed it alongside a vibrant community throughout the beta and post release content updates.

If you’ve got any questions or want further tips, come say hello on Twitter. We’re always around and happy to chat. After all, this game wouldn’t be what it is today without the amazing discussions and feedback from our friends in the community.

I played the shit out of Rivals, but I don't think you understand the level of my addiction for Warframe. That game is like a morphine drip for me. It's a problem.

Yeah, I still have it and can set aside a night, but I'd say the real-time multiplayer isn't that great, because you can't really do much other than occupy the same map. It's the asynchronous beating each other's times that's fun.

Rumored list of European PSN+ February releases include Outlast (PS4), Bioshock Infinite (PS3), Metro Last Light (PS3), Dynasty Warriors Next (Vita), and ModNation Racers (Vita).

I'm hoping Outlast, and Metro Last Light are also February releases here in the U.S. I had not heard of Outlast, but the video below looks amazing.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Outlast is DEFINITELY coming free to the PS4 for PS Plus members (I suppose it might be later than Feb, but I doubt it since the other free PS4 games were available for free at their debut). Outlast, Don't Starve and Secret Ponchos were announced as freebies way back at E3.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Here's what's coming this week - Great game and big discounts.

PlayStation Plus: BioShock Infinite Joins the Instant Game Collection

+ Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist

It’s almost time for BioShock Infinite to join the Instant Game Collection! The first BioShock allowed you to explore the downfall of the underwater society Rapture, but BioShock Infinite takes you to the skies – specificially the utopia of Colombia. As Booker DeWitt, a hired gun, you’ve been contracted to find Elizabeth, a mysterious girl locked up in a massive tower with a giant mechanical bird as a bodyguard. Just like BioShock had plasmids to amp up its first-person shooter combat, BioShock Infinite has vigors. Ranging from defensive with Return to Sender, which absorbs all damage and sends it hurling back at your enemy to the offensive with Charge, where Booker will slam into a specified opponent, you can mix up your play style throughout the game’s campaign.

There’s also a ton of titles on sale for both PS3 and PS Vita as part of our 14 for ’14 promotion including Crysis 3, Far Cry: Blood Dragon and The Wolf Among Us Season Pass, so check out all the deals below.

You can download BioShock Infinite after PlayStation Store updates tomorrow.

PlayStation Plus Update 1-14-2014

PlayStation Plus: Instant Game Collection
BioShock Infinite (PS3)

Free for PS Plus members

PlayStation Plus: BioShock Infinite
Indebted to the wrong people and with his life on the line, veteran of the U.S. Cavalry and hired gun Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape.

“BioShock Infinite is a brilliant shooter that nudges the entire genre forward” – IGN: 9.4/10

Outlast is absolutely, without a doubt, the most terrifying thing in ages. I watched a friend play through the PC version.....scary. Very very scary.

Regarding High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition, does anyone know:

1. Graphics aside, does the actual poker play well?

2. Are the servers or whatever still up and running so a handful of friends could get together for a virtual poker night?

3. Is anybody up for a virtual poker night?!

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Nice week!

Will have to charge up a neglected PS3 controller for Bioshock Infinite, and I'll almost certainly buy Spelunky, Puppeteer, Sly Cooper and Pixeljunk Monsters Vita. This is reaching Steam levels of silly.

Sly Cooper doesn't say Cross-Buy, but it is right? I know if you buy the PS3 version, it is, but I don't want to assume it works the other way as well.

If you haven't played Enslaved, I think it's a great game.

Outlast.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

It does not work the other way. Only the PS3 versions of Sly, PSASBR and R&C FFA come with a free Vita version. Reason is both obvious -- the PS3 version has a higher MSRP, and more surprising -- the retail PS3 versions don't come with a code, but rather include a single-use license on-disc that becomes void once redeemed initially (I don't know how, but it changes the Blu Ray disc somehow).
