Re: Official PSN Games Thread

The PS Vita version is listed on this week's Blog post as on sale and Cross-Buy

SPELUNKY (Cross Buy) $3.75 $7.49 $14.99
If for some reason it didn't give you the PS3 version, you could call and complain and get your money back. But it most certainly is a Cross-Buy title

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Already had Walking Dead, Spelunky, Killzone, and Xillia, bought Puppeteer, Far Cry 3 BD, Thomas was Alone, and Velocity, probably will end up getting Pixeljunk and LIMBO (which apparently used to be crossbuy but isn't now), probably not getting Lone Survivor and Wolf Among Us because they're not 75% off.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Happily, I was able to return my Puppeteer back to Best Buy. Bought the PSN version for $10 less and went ahead and got Spelunky as well (even though I'm pretty sure it'll just piss me off). I can confirm you get the PS3 version with purchase.
I think I'm done now. 7 games, $33. I bet Tales of Xillia is great, but I know I'll never have time to get to it and Rain reminds me too much of Contrast from the clips. No thanks there (unless people here really love it or something).

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Just want to say that Spelunky is indeed cross buy, so yes, buying a Vita version will net you the PS3 version I snatched almost all of the games from the promo... Soul Sacrifice was free for PSN+ and I already have physical copy of Killzone M. at $20 (BF sale).

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Puppeteer ($7) and Spelunky ($4) for me, along with free Bioshock Infinite.

I'm a little bit tempted to go back for PJ Monsters, but I probably won't.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I said the same to myself, but PJ Monsters is one of the games I can play over and over, besides I need those trophies, for $4? Bargain! The same goes to Limbo, love that game... Can't do 100% though, beat the game with less than 5 deaths with no restarts and breaks is too much for me, don't have that kind of skill anymore, lol.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Did anyone pick up Rain? It actually got some pretty good reviews (9 - Machinima, 8.5 - Polygon, 8 - Destructoid, 8 - EGM). Is there a demo up for it?

I got kind of an Ico vibe from it. Might give it a chance.

I'm also thinking Enslaved might be worth $5 just for the DLC.

It's got some bad reviews too, a lot of people mention the same thing - gets old fast.

That is what also intrigues me

Yeah, I could see that happening. Don't really want to call it a one trick pony, but the concept looks pretty cool.

I liked Enslaved a lot, but don't really think I need to play it again (on a different system) just for the DLC. Is that DLC stuff supposed to be really good.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Yeah, it was supposed to be, especially if you liked the Pigsy character. Here's a summary:

Pigsy, the comical porcine character known for his one-line zingers and questionable hygiene, finally gets his time in the spotlight. The Titan Graveyard is a lonely place and Pigsy really needs some companionship beyond the mechs that roam the area. He dreams of the perfect woman and embarks on a mission to build one from scratch using scrap parts he finds around the junkyard. In contrast to the main game which features strong, capable Monkey as the playable character, Pigsy is much more of a lover than a fighter. Pigsy's gameplay will have a completely different gameplay dynamic, with a focus on stealth and sharp-shooting. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeves including a far-reaching hookshot, trusty sniper rifle, various grenades and devices, Trouble Vision eye piece and the aid of his trusty mechanical sidekick Truffles.
Might be worth $5. The DLC is normally $10.

PlayStation Plus: Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for Members

+ Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was praised by game critics last year for its successful meshing of story and gameplay. Controlling the two brothers of the story with one analog stick each can take some getting used to, but you’ll find your rhythm as you solve puzzles with the end goal of saving your ailing father.

Starting tomorrow you can get your friends together and pit your wormy soldiers against each other in Worms: Battle Island on PS Vita. The adorable franchise has remained a favorite over the years with its classic turn-based strategy gameplay. With options like dressing your worms how you want and using oddball weapons like a Holy Hand Grenade, your fights will have plenty of pizzaz.

Finally, there’s a new PS Vita PLAY sale starting with OlliOlli. If you like music and rhythm games there’s also an entire sale dedicated to titles in those genres, so check out all the discounts below.

You can download Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Worms: Battle Islands after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, 1/21.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Brothers is an absolutely wonderful game that can be completed in about 3 hours. There's a reason it showed up on a lot of GOTY lists this year. Do yourself a favor and play it without looking up any spoilery information about it.

Kind of a boring week for Playstation Plus (but then again, I remember when it used to be one PS3 game like Mushroom Wars per month)

I'm tempted to get Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. I think that could be fun on Vita, but I've played that game so many times.
