Apparently the Gamestop preorder bonuses are now up for download. It does not include, however, a level but rather a sticker pack (perhaps to create a GoW-themed level.)

and you can also go online and play other peoples levels as well. As long as people keep making levels the game is neverending.

At least on my end, things are not running well now that the servers are up. The game just locked up on me while trying to play a story mode level offline.

Uh oh - maybe network congestion is causing the game to hiccup as it polls the net?

YES!

Found a copy at my local Best Buy, and was able to get it for $49.99! I showed them CC's ad and since they were offering a $10 gift card with purchase of LBP at their store, Best Buy just knocked off $10 towards my purchase of the game from them.

Can't wait to dive into this one.

Wow you lucked out. Best Buy never honors ads with gift cards included.

I am thinking of trading in Dead Space and Star Wars: TFU for this tomorrow.

Really? This is the first time I've ever attempted such a thing at Best Buy and the Customer Service guy didnt think twice... Guess I just ran into the right guy.

Either way, its LBP time.

The GoW and HS codes were so worth it.

Come on guys, add me to your PSN list - CBrentL

EDIT:

The servers are getting crashed right now. I can't get anything at all to load.

Where to?

I'm sure someone here [cough] me [/cough] would give you at least what Gamestop offers.

So I just started playing and have a question:

I keep running past these big cardboard Stars in the background (about the size of sackboy). It looks like I'm probably supposed to do something with them, but don't know what. I dont have a star sticker that would go there.

You'll find a star sticker eventually and you can revisit those areas. Place the sticker and you will get more unlockables.

The Servers are up, but everthing is really slow. It takes a few tries to connect. I got to play a few user created levels and had a lot of fun.

I hope the servers get better. I imagine it is because they just went online today and everyone is doing stuff online.

Okay, what the hell is wrong with this game?

I have never experienced this amount of freezing and stuttering in a game, ever.

Not to mention, the interminable wait for each level to load as my retinas burn staring into that white screen. I swear, it takes well over 30 seconds for each level to load. That's just unacceptable for a platform game that already took over 10 minutes to load onto the hard-drive.

It just feels either broken, or like I'm playing something that's not gone through proper testing yet - practically unplayable. I'm pretty pissed.

I don't have it yet, waiting for Amazon but feel free to add me to your PSN friends list. I don't have many

Does this have online co-op then?

Are you playing the user created levels or the story levels? If its the story levels, disconnect your ps3 from the internet. It should work fine after that.

Yeah.. Yesterday when playing the story levels and the servers were off, the levels loaded quickly and with no issue.

I hope it is a case of this being because the servers are online for the first time and everyone is playing. If this is how it is to be all the time, then I'm very disappointed with Sony's online. This is the first game I've ever tried to play online.

I've only been playing single-player - I didn't know it automatically hooked into the internet (why the hell would it do that and stay hooked in?). I'll try disconnecting and see what happens.

I did, and you're on my list now. Hmmm...

As for the online issues, I'm sure it's only temporary. I could see it being like this for a few days, but by this weekend for the start of next week everything should be fine. While playing the beta online it was just as smooth as playing it offline for me.

I don't have this yet but I did notice a lot of disconnections yesterday while I was playing unleashed.

Yup, disconnecting from the internet solved all that freezing and stuttering.

That 30-second white screen now takes no longer than two seconds.

Now all I have to complain about is the involuntary background to foreground jumping Sackboy does...

I just tried loading several user created levels and not one would start without freezing up and refusing to load the level. I did get a chance to play a few levels and some are very well done. Guess I'll try again at 5 am before work. It should slow down by then.
