Well, not the two codes, just the game.

I dunno. I just went in to just check the clearance games and stuff, and down on the bottom of the case next to a bunch of the games with the clearance stickers was a single copy of LBP for some odd reason.

Maybe I'm crazy, but from playing just the first couple of levels, the controls actually feel a bit smoother and crisper than in the beta. Maybe it's just me, but moving back and forth between the three areas of front/back movement seems much easier, and the jumps seem just a tad bit less floaty.

I don't know why you would think you're crazy. I thought it was pretty well known that the beta wasn't the finished product.

No, I know that. I just didn't expect a change major enough for me to tell almost instantly, that's all.

Either way, it's good to hear. Wonder how many of these "slipped" into store shelves.

I've seen one or two other people mention that they also found it in the clearance section, either on the shelf away from the video games where all other clearance stuff is, or in the game case with other clearance games or on the bottom of the case like how mine was.

I've also noticed that when you grab one of those little windmill things the leap isn't as great when you let go. In the beta I thought it was a little over the top, and that's been "fixed" in the retail version it seems.

I like how the game that many people are saying is taking gaming to a totally different level, a progression if you will, is essentially a 2D platformer at heart.

The IGN review is in (six pages!), 9.5:

<embed src='http://videomedia.ign.com/ev/ev.swf' flashvars='object_ID=856680&downloadURL=http://ps3movies.ign.com/ps3/video/article/918/918933/littlebig_101008_vidreview_flvlowwide.flv&allownetworking="all"' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='433' height='360' ></embed>

As you can see, I had a ton to say in this review, but that's because there's a ton to this game. LittleBigPlanet is a massive game, one that is essentially two parts intertwined so well that they're practically inseparable. Media Molecule has created a brilliant platformer, and then given you the tools to recreate the whole thing over again, or better yet, to create your own ideas from scratch. It's not perfect - the controls could be tighter, automatically shifting between planes can be problematic, the editor isn't quite as robust as you might hope - but what's there is nothing short of astounding. If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don't have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one.

10 Presentation
The way that everything is intertwined and flows and works together is perfect. The tagging system needs to be fixed, but that's it.
9.5 Graphics
Pixar would be proud. The visuals are cute, clean, stylistic and simply beautiful, while the art direction is absolutely top-notch.
9.5 Sound
The soundtrack is as perfect as it gets. On the editor side, there could be more specific samples, but you won't be counting while playing the Story mode.
9.5 Gameplay
The controls could be a tad tighter and the plane-shifting stuff needs works, but the overall package design is simply phenominal. The editor is amazing given that it's on a console.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
There's a ton to keep you coming back to the Story levels, but the user-created content will give LBP life for a long, long, long time.

So I thought the beta was over on the 11th. It was still working for me last night. Well, the offline 3 beginning levels anyway.

My beta ended on the 12th. When you go to the game and view the information, what end date does it have listed for you?

Little Big Planet is coming up at $45 on circuitcity.com right now (or was earlier, I'm not sure of the latest CAG status). Apparently they are giving away a $15 Gift Card when you pre-order, but Iron Angel on CAG figured out a way to use it instantly on LBP(& Fable 2):

Put the game in your cart, click through to checkout and stop at the credit card screen. Close the browser. Open it back up, go to the site again and instead of clicking on your cart, click the checkout button on the right. Voila, gift card is gone, and the game is now $45. Confirmed to work in IE and Chrome.

Just did this. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: The same method works for Dead Space and the $10 gift card.

CC.com isn't letting me put it in my cart. It says "coming soon" and then has a link which says "Notify me when available."

Yep, looks dead now. I just did it about 45 minutes ago and it worked fine then. Went back in just now and the preorder button is gone.

Chop Suey had me cracking up and is easily the funniest, but the Eminem one is pretty good too. I won't ruin it but the last one was laugh out loud funny as well.

I actually guessed that one would be last. Pretty funny. How do you make sackboy talk? He seemed to do it sometimes but I never figured out how.

So far this has a 9.6 average from critics and a 5.9 average from users on Metacritic.

Has there been any other recent games with such a disparity?

What users? It hasn't even come out yet, and I'm sure they haven't played the beta either. These "users" are just lame fan-boys that haven't played the game and don't understand the draw.
