Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Finished the game last night and I definitely get the feeling the game was intended to be longer. I think all this exclusive DLC was cut from the original because it didn't directly tie-in to the overarching mystery that is slowly established the second half the game.
That said, the last set of investigations is incredibly gripping and made me wish it could have lasted just a little longer. Without spoiling anything, I can say there's no reason why the game couldn't be kept alive in DLC, rather than a hasty sequel being rushed out in the next year or two. |

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I've heard that they cut a full two desks worth of cases from the game before release. That's a lot of potential DLC.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I would like DLC and another story with new characters set in a different period.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
From what has been said I think they cut those two desks to be able to fit the game onto 360.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I did see a headline last week or over the weekend that it was going to be on 6 originally.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I want to talk about how this game failed me (total spoilers, don't read if you're not done).
Spoiler:
Please let me know what I missed and how I'm wrong (as I fully expect this thread to do ;)) |
Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Pinata I agree with most of what you say...

Also, I love that we're talking about this right now instead of being responsible and watching the weather

The only thing keeping me from playing Brink is going to be a loss of power or internet...or a Tornado I guess.... |
Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I just started vice and am getting to the point where I'm not sure if I'm going to keep playing. On the first case,
Spoiler:
Parts of the game are pretty good, but they just did a shit job with some of the logic and writing. I'll enjoy an hour or two and then hit something that's so incredibly stupid that it kills whatever interest I have in the current story arc. |

My take on the ending.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Still avoiding the spoilers since I have a few more cases to go, but what bugs me most about this game is the huge disconnect between myself as the viewer and myself as the gamer. As a viewer, the game is giving me information that the gamer part of me can't do anything with. *I* know what's going on here, but the character I'm controlling can't do anything about it.
I also don't like doing things like choosing a simple word like "Doubt" and end up screaming at a rape victim. |

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Just wait until you finish to feel even more disconnected.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
I haven't played all week. :( I did notice last time I played I did a bit of "Free Roam" just to run around and take some calls and some of the calls I had taken already. Is that normal in free roam?

If you look on the map and see that the call has a name with it (say, "Vengeful Ex"), then you've already done it. No title, it's new. |
