As much as I dislike it, I would rather play I Don't Want To Miss A Thing a million times than any Sublime Blink 182, or Linkin Park song once. This is why I'm still on the fence about the game.

Linkin Park - if it's What I've Done (which I suspect it will be), my girls are in too. That list, if 100% accurate, is only 20 out 0f 85. Assuming there's another 15-20 of who-the-fuck?/Turbonegro bands of their own, there's still around 45 decent tracks to look forward to. |
 How could I have left Turbonegro off the list? They belong at the top!
|
Wrong game, that's why.

Damn, will be sweet to be rocking some At the Drive In!

I'm all for having some sweet ballads in RB/GH4, but I don't want like I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. I want "Faithfully."

The rest of the list has a lot of promise. I'm still curious to see if they'll give away their trade secret as far as how they got all masters, because I find it very hard to believe that every one of these bands of original seperate multi-tracks. |
One Armed Scissor? Badass!
I know a lot of people hate the mostly nonsensical lyrics for ATTD and MV, but damn is the music good. Plus it'll be fun seeing novices trip over the lyrics. Spoiler:
Edit: Okay so maybe just about everybody tripping over the lyrics . |
I cant get excited about the leaked material so far.
Let's see some: Foreigner, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, .38 Special, Doobie Bros, Dokken, Dio, Queensryche, Whitesnake, YES, ELO, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, RUSH, Led Zeppelin, Queen. |

Every other band I'd need to see what song they chose before I got excited. So far its just OK. Sublime ~ Santeria ? Dont recall it. Billy Idol ~ Rebel Yell - OK. Just OK. Foo Fighters ~ Everlong - Dont recall it. Lenny Kravitz ~ Are You Gonna Go My Way - Waay to much radio airplay in the day. Just OK. Aerosmith ~ I don't want to miss a thing - Worst Aerosmith song ever. Blink 182 ~ Dammit - Dont recall it. the Answer ~ Never Too Late - Never heard of them or it. At the Drive-In ~ One Armed Scissor - Never heard of them or it. Im not beyond being introduced to new songs and bands. And I'm picking up GH4 regardless. Its been pre-ordered already. I expect the list to evolve into the awesome master set list that was promised the closer we get to release. But for now its just too early. |
If you think that Rebel Yell is only "ok" and Everlong is not memorable Kelkee than I'm not sure I can take any other comment you make in this thread seriously.

As for Kravitz, yes it got too much play back in the day, but, good lord man, that was 15 years ago. How often do you hear it these days? Actually have you heard it lately? I posted about a month back about hearing it recently and immediately Guitar Hero came to mind and how cool it would be in a game. It's got some great licks in it. |
Complete agreement here! I'd love to see this pave the way for some MV in either this or RB.

What the hell is MV?

Honestly I dont recall ever hearing a song titled Everlong. Nothing against Foo, I just cant place most mid to late 1990's songs and their titles together. Since alot of the time the title was never in the lyric to begin with. |

http://www.rockandrollfriends.com/oldfogie.gif What? What?! Marsh Voltage? What the hell does that even mean? You darn kids and your rock and roll! Back in my day, we spelled everything out. None of this abbreviation nonsense! And our bands had good names...normal names. Names like The Glenn Miller Orchestra! BAH!

I'd rather hear Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower or Voodoo Child over Foxy Lady, or Purple Haze. Any of the Doors would be great. Van Halen I prefer Diamond Dave over Sammy but early Sammy/VH I could handle (Dreams specifically). Now if they choose Eruption and that's the only title we get from them then it would be a major let down. Great guitar solo but its a band game now. Dream Theater I expect them to include their only "Greatest Hit". As for Kravitz, yes it got too much play back in the day, but, good lord man, that was 15 years ago. So what the conclusion we've come to here is to not worry about it until there's something to worry about?

Didnt see this posted earlier.
Info on the Wii version of GH4. Talks about the Wii version of the drums, how they plan to do DLC, and something secretly exclusive to Wii only. Interesting stuff for Wii owners. "Other than the obvious graphical differences, we've really tried to keep the Wii on close parity. The team has been working really hard to deliver a deep, rich experience for the Wii consumer. We're not copping out with a simple port. " http://wii.ign.com/articles/883/883120p1.html |

As for Van Halen, I'll take any Dave or Sammy, although the Hagar years leaned a bit more on the keyboards (which I enjoy), but may not be a good fit for the game. One I would love to see though (with Sammy) would be Human's Being from Twister. Great tune.
