Just got back from gamestop. Crowd wasnt too bad. The security there was Insane. One cop inside another outside and three cop cars circling the lot. Just for a freaking game release.

Been playing for about an hour, realized I hadn't eaten today so I'm taking a few.

Anyway the game is awesome, takes a bit to get your bearings. Driving feels way different but much more realistic. Music is great, graphics are nice but quite dark. I had to boost the brightness and contrast and it looks better. I'm on a PS3 and it's 720p native, mine's set into 1080i though.

About 100 people or so at the Best Buy, and about the same number it looked like at the Gamestop across the parking lot. I was in the suburbs so it was pretty tame.

Must play more.

4AM. Me and some friends played non-stop, time went by really fast. Single player missions were kind of dull at first, so we took it online. It's SO SO SO awesome online. First thing I did was get a chopper and cause hell.

I havent found it too hard to find weaponry. I collected a pistol from Little Jacob, and then when we shot up the drug dealers house I picked up their shotguns. I've noticed that the cops and the hospital don't take your guns away if you get caught and/or die. And I love being able to restart the mission right away. Calling for a cab is also sweet. In fact, this whole game is sweet.

I went to a midnight release at a local Future Shop, here in Oshawa, ONT. I played it for five hours when I got home and really enjoyed it. The driving took some time to get used to but, other than that, I didn't find anything hard.

Apparently I'm 9.77% done.

Damn I just played this for 6 hours and it's morning already! I don't want to sleep even, I just want to play. The game is so immersive, there's so many things going on all the time, even the pedestrians and drivers are much more intense and heckle the hell out of you haha. It's almost feels like GTA crossed with Shenmue, with much better graphics of course.

And driving drunk was a freakin trip. Man there is so much to do, I can't wait to get back to it after some shut-eye. Hope everyone gets theirs today!

It's going to be a long day. I'll pick this up after work, but I won't actually get to play it until tonight after the kids go to bed. And since I'm an old man, chances are I'll doze off myself by that time.

I'm going to pick this up now at BB's opening. Hopefully I can still make it to work on time and then be home and playing around 3.

Unfortunately, while bitching about anything and everything is alive and well in America, having a spine is not.

Just let the kids watch while you play! Probably no worse than what they see at school every day.

No appointments for me today, so I'm getting it at Best Buy at 10:30 (no midnight release, so hopefully the crowds are gone by then) and playing all day and night. Probably will play single player all day and try out MP tonight. I have a feeling we'll have enough DVD Talkers playing to get quite a few games going.

Nah, I need to be responsible. I'll probably put in Dead Rising until they're in bed.

They say it's about 30 hours long, if you avoid all of the optional distractions along the way.

My brother and I live together and it seems only one of us can play multiplayer at once....I was trying while he was in a game and it kept saying disconnect from game session when I would try to get in

My BB had 30 people waiting outside at opening at 10 today. 29 of us were white, college-aged males. One was a 50-something mother who was buying it for her son. I was 30th in line, and I was the only one who had it pre-ordered. So I got in at 10 and out at 10:01. Sweet.

Mine is out for delivery from Amazon. Forgot that I had it for 56.99, so even with my next day upgrade I paid less than I would have if I picked it up locally on the way to work and paid tax. Now, it better get delivered - sucks that tonight I have school right after work though. I can tell already I won't be paying much attention...

Is there a difference between the regular and special editions, game-wise? The guy at Best Buy guarding the stacks and stacks of GTAIV claimed that the special edition contained more cars and weapons, but that's the first I'd heard anyone say anything like that.

Ok, thank you. I kind of figured, but I wanted to make sure. I wish I'd been positive at the time, because he was using that line on everyone and it would have been nice to be able to call him on it.

Nope, no difference in the actual game for the regular and special editions. The SE is cool though. I don't know why the SE is $8 cheaper on buy.com for the X360... With the $25 off coupon, i could get this for less than the price of the regular edition. But the price difference is bothering me....

Correction, the price of the SE for both PS3 and X360 are $90 now on buy.com...

There's a trickle of reports out there that the game is causing freezing issues on the 60GB PS3s and some 360s.
