It's not a very good game imo.. I think I may be spoiled though since ps3 got infamous at about the same time which is infinitely better.

I did buy it today. I couldn't help myself and I watched the trailer before I went, probably a mistake. And since I don't have a PS3, I don't feel so bad.

Prototype was great. Definitely worth $20.

I'm just a little ways into Prototype so consider this a first impression: It generally lacks the polish of a GTA or Infamous, but I was having a pretty good time just running around the city with my ridiculous powers. I'd say $20 is about right, but as far as Super Hero games go, last year had several superior ones (Batman, Wolverine, Infamous).

I wouldn't call Infamous "infinitely better" though. I could even see someone preferring Prototype...provided they don't ever try to do anything that requires precision controls.

And yet Prototype is somehow still more fun. It really doesn't make a lick of sense.

Only in the very short term. The more time you spend with Prototype, the more it's charm turns into aggravation. But it is fun to run around aimlessly as Alex for 15-20 minutes.

I disagree here. Depending on your tastes, Infamous was probably a top-10 or so game last year.

When you get to the army base on prototype first try not to throw your controller through the tv. Then try to tell me you didn't get frustrated. Bet you can't do it :P

I still think infamous was a way better game in just about any way.

I never played either but from reading and hearing everyone's reaction to both it sounded similar to Second Sight and Psi-Ops from last gen. Second Sight was a far better game story and character-wise but Psi-Ops was just more fun.

I'd agree with that on Prototype. A little slow to get into, then fun fun fun bouncing around and smashing pavement....then boring...then way too hard. I resold it...
Tempted to buy a 4k card..that's cheaper per point, and I'm down to 220 or so, and I want to get the new Borderlands DLC.

Prototype was one of the few games (Ghostbusters being the other) that made me nauseated while playing. There was so much going on during missions and the constant spinning around to see who was shooting at you or attacking you made me sick -- I had to quite playing after only 2 or 3 hours in.

Hrmmm, anybody else have this problem? I actually can't play a few games because I have problem with ones that require you to be able to play in 360 degrees of movement, i.e. Portal, Mirror's Edge. If this game is anything like that in terms of character movement, I'd honestly be better off trading it for something else.

I have been wanting to pick up Bioshock. This sounds like a pretty good deal. I have just got into FPS. Right now I am playing Fallout 3 and loving it. Do you think these would be something I would enjoy?
