^Cool, now they need to send me that code.

It makes sense that I could get RAC for $44.99 since I ordered yesterday for $53.99. This seems to happen a lot to me lately on amazon. I miss the days of the 30-day price guarantee.

Yeah.. I emailed amazon about that and they said they will not refund the difference. I laid it on a little thick in my reply, probably won't make any difference, but who knows.
I can't believe they don't have a small window where they will price match a lower price provided it is in that 7-14 day window and is their own website. I would understand if I asked them to pricematch a lower price a month or two after release or price match another website. But its their own site offering the lower price within a week of the games release.

I'd be better served buying games in stores that can protect my purchase if there is a lower price within the stores 30 day price match policy.

I didn't even try it on a non-videogame purchase, so I don't know. Anyone else try?
I just tried and the $40 did indeed come off the bottom line cost of DJ Hero. $75 shipped is hard to pass up but I'm going to wait until I get the $20 credit from MW2 and get it for $55 :)

I tried to use mine on a 4000 XBL point code. No go.

Amazon prices are usually better than the store prices even with sales.

Not always, though.

And I got my reply email and of course they denied giving me the credit back for the price difference. It is a bit of bs that they would not do it. It was not like I ordered the game months ago and now what a lower price or tried to get them to price match another store. It was their own damn website and it was ordered and shipped within a week of now being cheaper.

At least with a B&M store, I have up to 30 days if it goes on sale to get the price matched and difference refunded.

Hmm, that's strange you were denied. They've always been pretty good about price adjustments for me. I pre-ordered my PS3 copy of Lego Rock Band this weekend for $46.99, and received it on Tuesday. The PS3 version dropped to $43.99 late in the day yesterday, well after the 360 version, and I got an email this morning stating that they credited me the difference ($3). However, the price drop did happen on the release day, not after.

I miss the old days of 30 day price protection.

You might try asking again, or keeping an eye out for a credit email.

Not sure.. I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago and it shipped out last week and I received it on Saturday.

Maybe you got the credit back because your copy shipped close to the price difference?

I just got my $40 off code, I have cod on preorder from a month ago, I wonder if I could apply it to that?

probably not, since I'm already using the $20 code.

Yeah I was thinking about it and guessed that since the price change happened on release day, they might have different rules.

The pre-order price guarantee covers all price changes up to and including the entire first day of release. If the price changes more than 24 hours after release, you are out of luck.

Did you try it on the 4000 points card instead of the code?

Yeah, no go on those either. There has to be an actual game in the cart for it to take.

Well that sucks. I have the $25 one from buying the Wii and I assume it's the same. I did notice that Borderlands is $50 right now for both platforms if anyone hasn't picked it up.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition for 360 is the lightning deal right now.

I pre ordered Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition on Amazon. Am I supposed to get an email saying I have the $20 dollar credit?

My MW2 shipped yesterday as I chose release day delivery. I got an email just now with my $20 promotional credit.

Credit must be used by Feb 10, 2010 I think it was. They also said it was right in my account, so it should show up when I go to purchase a game. It did not come as a code in an email.

I got a shipping email on Monday when it shipped. It arrived yesterday around noon. Earlier then UPS usually gets to me. Normally UPS delivers to my street/area around 6pm est.

Did you get your game yesterday sniper?

I got the note from Amazon that I can re-do the 360 Arcade deal until the 14th. I haven't decided yet.

The lack of wi-fi and hard-drive is holding me back.

$190 for an Arcade, 60 GB HD, headset, and 4 months of Live.

That's probably worth doing.

How are you figuring that price?

You can check the 360 thread for a deal on Live. 13 months for $30 at Best Buy. ($2.30 a month)
